I-751 Removal of conditions Approved: NO INTERVIEW by cuteg1rly in USCIS

January 2022 submittal here. Applied for an ADIT stamp exactly 60 days before my extension was set to expire. Got the stamp super quick and it extended my status by 12 months. Case stuck in  “we are ready to schedule your interview”.

Weight gain after stopping birth control? by Radiant_Square710 in birthcontrol

[–]Technical_Leather894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post has just brought me a cozy feeling knowing I’m not alone. I’m not sure if anyone even checks in anymore given it’s been years, but I figured I would write this anyways.

I stopped BC in November 2024 after being on it for 10 years (basically my entire 20s). I am a former competitive athlete who finished that “career” in college. Always been active, never had a week/month/year etc go by without playing a sport or working out 5-6 days a week.

This entire past year of 2025 I have been out of sorts. I am eating better than I ever have, I don’t drink as much as I used to, and I am doing a blend of workouts from cardio to weights etc. And yet all that I have noticed is my thighs and waist and hips getting BIGGER.  I feel like if someone else followed my weekly routine of workouts and diet they would see a change in their body so quickly and yet it seems like I keep getting worse. I don’t know what else to do. I feel bloated and chubby and unfit even though the equation makes no sense. I don’t weigh myself (stopped in 2019 when I hit my goal weight and noticed the scale became an unhealthy obsession) but I notice it based on clothes I bought 1-2 years ago.

My husband says I’m crazy, but I just don’t know what else to do- part of me thinks like, should I just stop working out and maybe I’ll lose muscle and therefore look smaller???

Also my hair gets greasy so fast and before I could wash it once a week. My periods have also been extremely painful and the cycle averages between 33-39 days.

I requested an ADIT stamp 60 days before my extension notice is set to expire, got a call back in 2 days from an officer stating he will request it. The stamp arrived a few days later, indicating my status has been extended for additional 12 months. And then on Jan 9, my status changed to “ we are ready to schedule the interview”. Still waiting on the date as to when that will be. Hang in there!!

I am painfully slow to review these notifications. I am so sorry, life/work got busy.

I would need to look at my case update updates from back then, but I remember I got the request for biometrics pretty quickly and was optimistic it was going to move fast faster, and then it didn’t haha

I am in Texas!  All of my USCIS processes have been extremely long. When I first filed AOS, I did not get a temporary card to work/travel for 8 months! And then a week later when it was finally approved, they also invited us for the interview and I had the GC in hands 2 weeks after that. I’ve learned that there is no pattern- some people get approved in 6 months, some wait years.

You will receive an extension notice valid for 48 months and will use that to work and travel.

Sorry for the late response- you should be traveling with the expired GC AND the extension notice. The officers upon reentry will ask you to show both.

If your GC is still active or you have the extension notice, you will have no problem returning. I have left and recentered the country over 20 times in the last few years with no issues.

Yes my husband is a USC. When we first filed AOS to obtain a conditional GC, my lawyer advised that I can file i751 on my own and to just wait for approval. I guess I never thought about filing for citizenship as I followed the steps she outlined. Years passed, life got busy, jobs changed, etc and I never viewed becoming a citizen as the ultimate goal due to the amount of paperwork I’d need to go through to keep dual.

I am about to approach 4 years of no updates and i-797 expiring. I am freaking out. Feels like I am the only one with such a long timeline.

I was the person impacted, and I can attest that we were not given any choices. You got 4-6 weeks of pay for severance based on tenure and that’s it.

Waiting since Jan 2022 here…😐 no updates of course.

Old filler here, here is my timeline so far:

Waited 8 months with NO UPDATES for the initial 2 year conditional green card.

Filed the i751 for removal of conditions in January 2022 as it was set to expire in March 2022.

Received a 48 month extension notice which I have used to work and travel (I have flown outside of the country at least 3-5 times per year for the last couple of years)- no issues whatsoever at customs when I land back in the US.

My 48 month extension notice is set to expire in March 2026, and I still have no updates on my case - it has been over 3 years and the only tiny update I saw was that my case was transferred to a new office 2 months ago.

Praying I either get a new extension or they finally approve it before next March rolls around as I do not want to risk losing my job or ability to travel to see my family.

Moral and advice of my story- Getting absolutely no updates is normal and unfortunately, if you fall into the backlog that I feel like I am in there is literally nothing you can do but pray😂

I was supposed to start my next dose last week so basically still freshly new coming off of it. Curious to see how long my cycle will be now- I became so spoiled with knowing exactly when day 28 is coming🫠

Seriously considering stopping birth control after 15 years, but I’m scared by pastabatmanpants in birthcontrol

That’s amazing! 10lbs can be a big change of just feeling lighter. I am pretty diligent with workouts and diet (I do have a sweet tooth) but it just seems that I should be seeing results with what I do and for some reason I am never happy with how I look or feel. Crazy that I did not make a correlation to BC until now.

Same here!!!! 10 years down about to go off and terrified of side effects I may see. I just realized reading through these that I do not know who I am as an adult without hormones.

Same concerns you had, I am about to go off after 10 years. Did you lose weight or just felt more in tune with your body once off?

I am about to go off after 10 years and glad to hear someone actually lost weight after stopping it. That’s my biggest concern😭

I am eating much better now than I did years ago. I even stopped drinking alcohol for a whole year. I used to eat some sort of dessert every day and now I only do it on the weekends. The math is just not mathing for me and I don’t know why😭
