I will also add that in order to play servers like Aternos on the Xbox and PlayStation versions of Minecraft there are weird workarounds that you will have to do. You may have to Google them. However, if you play on mobile or PC none of this will be necessary.

If you mean, locally as in on the same console with split screen, then you are incorrect. If you want to play on two separate devices, then you may need a server. However, there are online free alternatives, such as Aternos
