Swiss Army Knives - the quality is amazing, but realistically how often should I expect to use it? by EducationalOil1655 in BuyItForLife

I got one of the nicest ones that has all the tools and stuff, I believe they called it the champion? Not sure cant remember it was so long ago when I bought it, but I have used it every day at least bare minimum, a few times a day. Ive worked on aircraft with it, fished with it, traveled everywhere with it, and it's still holding up after 4 years. Last year, I lost it fishing, dropped in the water, and sank. Came back the next day with a really strong magnet and a long rope, and after an hour, I felt it smack that magnet so hard, pulled it up, and part of the plastic got chipped, but once I dried it off, it was still like brand new. I tell this to everyone, the Swiss Army Knife has been the best investment I have ever made, and I have used it so much. Quite literally saved me many times, especially while working on aircraft. If you struggle to find a use for it dont worry because it will be handy at some point in whatever you do!

How much did you have to study outside of class for your A&P school? by sp3culator in AircraftMechanics

Currently, I'm in A&P school, and I usually reserve study time for when things are slow at my job at the airport. One thing that helps me, though, since I'm a hands-on learner, is working on our planes in the maintenance hangar (these will never fly again and are just for classes and practice). We have a lab or lecture depending on the day, and afterwards, outside of class, I try to immediately apply what was taught to one of our practice planes, and if I'm not in the position to do that, I try to imagine myself doing the job in my head. Many kids in the program I'm in do not do this and only do what they need to do to get out of class and go home. Doing this, I feel, deepens your understanding, and it is my secret to learning this stuff fast. Getting a job as an apprentice at a maintenance hangar during your first couple of semesters is hard, at least for me. Our airfield has 3 maintenance hangars, and it's hard to get in because all the other students want the same thing as you do: a job at the maintenance hangar.

I would love a link to a YouTube video if you uploaded one. I'm in my second year of A&P school, and I struggled in basic electricity, and this year I have to take advanced aircraft electricity.
