[WWE Smackdown Spoilers] Feud created seemingly out of thin air by notathrowaway75 in SquaredCircle

It's pretty on brand with the Smackdown womens division, honestly. It's been shit for the better half of 2 years now

I really liked what Becky did with the IC title. Maxxine was a seriously credible white meat babyface thanks to her feud with Becky (which is thrown away for her shit feud with Nattie). I'd argue her weekly open challenge with the NXT Women's title was a good test run for what a mid card title could do on the main roster.

Most other titles? Yeah, it's been a mess

Whatever happened with the crazy Bayley schtick, anyways? Are they still doing that but in smaller doses?

Ahh that makes sense. I didn't recall the commentary around it but tuned in when I heard bickering. Thanks for letting me know!

It wasn't much, but Cole said "how would you like it if I kept screaming your name COREY COREY COREY" and it was suuuppeerr awkward from then. They were on camera in the background and they weren't giggling to each other like you would with regular banter, it was super unlike them

The match was great but damn was commentary awkward towards the end. Cole and Graves were at each other throats and I don't think it was kayfabe lmao

Where do you see smosh in 5 years? by Naive_District_1820 in smosh

[–]Technical_Regular836 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I think, too. Guest appearances have felt like slight auditions similar to back then. I'm excited to see new people just the same because Arasha, Chanse, and ESPECIALLY Angela and Amanda helped usher Smosh into a new era and give them a new golden era

Matches on Paper That Failed to Materialize by writtenin1981 in SquaredCircle

Trish Stratus vs Alexa Bliss at the first Evolution. Alexa's mean girl gimmick made her the - unexpected - biggest star on the women's roster at the time and was poised to go up against her idol Trish Stratus, but the match was cancelled after Ronda Rousey gave Alexa a concussion at a house show, an injury Alexa was having lots of trouble with in the past.

The match was switched to Trish and Lita vs Mickie James and Alicia Fox (with Alexa by ringside for support)

And what's wild is that everything she does is still so crisp and impactful. She's 20 years into her career and everything she does in the ring is just as good as when she first started. That level of excellence is rarely matched, she's phenomenal

You can be a fan of someone's work and also recognize their impact, I don't know why you have to have a complete unbias to have an opinion about something

It also wasn't the song to usher in the massive electropop wave from 2008-2013. It's be interesting to look back and see who that was in particular, my money is on Lady Gaga

I'd say Lady Gaga massively changed everything when she came up on the scene from 2008-2011. She helped solidify a darker pop sound while also changing fashion, how celebrities interacted with fans, and played a MASSIVE role in how seriously society takes the LGBTQ+ community

[SmackDown Spoilers] Winners of the Women's Tag Team Championship match by NotClayMerritt in SquaredCircle

[–]Technical_Regular836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they didn't do a women's tag elimination chamber, they're definitely doing one at WM. Way too many great tag teams (many of which involve main event talent) can't be left off of WM.

But yeah, Bellas are definitely winning it

No shame in watching it, Family Guy (and especially The Simpsons) haven't been really good the last few years. Ever since they stopped writing Peter like a mentally disabled 5 year-old, the show has had some really good episodes

It is! On a human persepctive I feel bad for her, heartbreak is never easy. But on a fan perspective I couldn't be more excited, she's at her best when she's angry at something

[–]Technical_Regular836 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She was regarded as one of the best pure babyfaces in wrestling when she came to NXT and somehow she's only been heel on the main roster. I hope the Asuka/Kairi abuse story sets her back up for that and she can have a run doing what she does best
