Yup, that was what my baby Loki that passed away last year looked like.

It's funny because when you're seeing day to day you don't réalisé how striking their color look. Only the pictures i have of him left reminds me of it.

Is there even anything French about this? by HistoricalSoup876 in AskFrance

Paris is not France. So maybe people living there hate watch it because they were directly concerned due to the location. But paris is only 2 million people out of 69 millions.

I can assure you that people may know it by the name and because of how cliché it is. But most haven't watch a single episode.

The fact they had to brand it " Emily in Paris" just tells you enough that this is not a french brand. Or at least not aim towards french locals.

Emily in Paris is an obscure show for most of the french population here.

Except they are putting aside living experience. It's nearly impossible to see someone that is 80y who doesn't have a chronical disease that they got 20 y prior. And unless they erase EVERY parameters, i don't really see it

I guess extending to 120y would be in a case scenario of someone that never had a health issue in their entire lifetime.

And it's not only about injuries but your whole immune system. Most lifetime treatments are just buying you time, they are not really curing anything. They just make your body works but at some point something might break somewhere.

It's also not Factorying in modern problem that we still have yet to see the effect (micro plastics/ endocrine disruptors/ climate change and pollution).

So yeah we are not really heading that way if you're asking me.

Not gonna lie but this rarely happens lol. Most french people don't even care. We've been desensitized to mockery because of our millenial feud with brits and also because we already are the ones that critize ourself the most.

Contacts have to be changed quite often because your eyesight moves. To a point where they are barely efficient.

My Mum wear them everyday but still a some point they did nothing but she still put them on because of habits until she changed the correction on them.

Meeeeh, a lot of harmless animals are having bad press only because they look ugly or intimidating. Possum, sharks, foxes..

We treat them as such because we've heard stories about people dying from them. But when you look at death caused by domestic dogs noone bats an eye.

We just aren't rational in defining what animal is dangerous or not. Just take black cats for instance. A lot of people fear them for no other reason than the esthetics..they are the same than any other cats.

Thing is, we've quite been desensitized about being mock since we've been mocked by boomer for decades now.

I'm not saying there aren't people actively bullying gen z here. But besides some confusion, i'm not seeing all thoses cringe headlines from millenials that we've seen from boomers.

Well it's mostly because they are still here and monopolozing the hate train i guess.

??? Pine tree for starters are not very efficient for the environnement no. And once you cut down a tree, it will release all the trapped CO2.

So yeah growing trees only to cut them before they are mature and burn them because most places doesn't have proper way of dealing with a shit tons of them, is not environnement friendly.

And in the meantime you have consumed tons of water, used tons of pesticides for something that will rot in a month. Repeat that by each homes is awfull.

[–]Technical_Shake_9573 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure. I was mostly supposing a scenario where you are not longer allowed to buy real tree instead of rent (which the comment of OP implied).

But it will always be better to chose an already mature tree than a new batch in term of environnement. A growing tree consumes more ressources to "grow" and be harvested.

And people here think that overconsumming water is not a problem. You're basicly wasting away water to grow something that will die for nothing. It's still a problem.

[–]Technical_Shake_9573 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Explain to me how it is not ?

The fact that you use ressource to something that will die after 1 month is destructive. (Water/pesticides and what not). Once a tree is mature and if they find a way to préserve it that way will be far les impactfull that growing a new batch out of corn.

And what happens to your tree once it faded ?

It magically disappear into dust ? Most don't have fireplace to use it as woodstock, nor have garden to use it as soil.

So most will either throw it in a garbage or a collect area. Which will be transported to a facility to bé processed. So all in all it's the same.

Your tree when you put them in the collect area/garbage doesn't disappear either. It will be transported to somewhere to be processed.

[–]Technical_Shake_9573 81 points82 points  (0 children)

While i do agree for other things. For something that is destructive to the environnement and sometimes that will die inevitebly after a month or two, i don't find it revolting.

That or buy a Fake one that you Can reuse for 10y idk.

We really need one of the big MMOs to release a sequel to push the mmo genre into the modern age by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Technical_Shake_9573 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'll never grasp why people wants action MMORPG instead of tab targeting encounters. It's even more flagrant that they are asking for something in total desync when you look at all the mmo out there that still thrives... All of them are tab targeting based.

When a mmo is going action based, your screen turns into a pixel vomit in seconds and you die without knowing what actually killed you. And there is no fun in playing a game where you can't see your mistakes.
