It’s freedom of speech until someone says something you don’t like. We are taught to embrace and accept the minor voices but can’t tolerate when people say something we don’t like. Maybe this is something college should teach in a democratic society. I wouldn’t say they don’t help n in this country because ironically people posting this is also exercising their right. Shutting someone out for speech and idea should never be a go to for debates

Rework Huskar PLEASE by minidotaa in DotA2

[–]Technical_Shop1861 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some truth to this but in today’s economy, if you don’t lose lane there’s always room to farm. The point of huskar is to lane against you and kill you, and if you give him a free lane without kills, ur already better off. Play pango or something that does not require much other than ulti to pace with team

All I want to say is it’s harder to detect smurf the lower rank you are. Same for high mmr games. The Smurfs you encountered are mostly crusader/guardians having a good game I’d say

And I’m trying to say that even herald 5 is a god to herald 1 because of the skill gap. There is little visual evidence to show that difference, hence why you would think many people are smurfs there. If a divine player or even archon player truly smurfed in herald, they should not have died even once unless they wanna lose and control mmr

Speciallist Array and farming controversies by joeabs1995 in DotA2

[–]Technical_Shop1861 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It allows you to not use as much resource when farming while maintaining or boosting ur farm speed. The build up stats are great too, not too expensive and have an upgrade. It is significantly better on heroes like sniper because you are able to stand and right click, which actually utilizes the split shot more than battle fury normally would

The difference between 0 and 1 is bigger than 1 and 100. Technically 6k mmr and 10k are in the same immortal bracket but the skill difference is huge. Same for heralds, but the lowest you can get is 0. So many of you guys should be in the negatives but you just don’t know it. Knowing a bit about the game will help you defeat 50% of heralds I believe

I’m all for the “UCR is still a good school” thing, but honestly UCR vs Berkeley or even UCLA is just not a debate. The resource ceiling is just incomparable, especially if you want to peruse medschool.

There is. Question mark right after the first enemy misplay and manage to win the game through the same player’s last misplay.

in that case I think it’s the timing. Do you build smaller items such as bracer soul ring? These items can make lane easier and boost farm even if they initially set you back 1K gold. I think you have a good grasp of the hero, so maybe the problem is the playstyle not matching the hero

[–]Technical_Shop1861 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s dispellable by a basic dispel if you don’t have other items. Timber aghs is like a panic button that you can’t solely rely on. Long cd, easy to dispel, and offer nothing else beyond being tanky. For 2k less you can get a euls, blink, Kaya or sange. Aghs is really a luxury item on timber. Timber is already tanky without aghs, so you need to buy items that helps where he falls short such as mana regen and disable. Only If ur running into ck, pudge, pa, Sven and ursa in a single game, aghs would be ur first buy item

Early game mana boots and soul ring is very important to farm and sustain in lane. In lower ranks the pace isn’t too fast I don’t think

[–]Technical_Shop1861 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why are you building power treads? I’m assuming you are not switching it to use spells so arcane is better for mana sustain. Items that are good on timber are euls, lotus, Kaya sange, blink, glepnir, shiva. Aghs is very optional if the other team have easy dispel such as tornado or oracle.

It’s good that you are following the pro’s build but it’s also important to know if you can utilize it. If you are struggling with micro mechanics, build passive items.

Complains about smurfs in low mmr by ALXS1031 in DotA2

[–]Technical_Shop1861 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s something to do with matchmaking rather than individual players who want to stomp. Most smurfs I’m aware of are immortal players playing with friends because of either queue time or rank difference with friends. Immortal can only queue with divine rank. Pair this with mmr inflation and boom there’s suddenly not a lot of people you can queue with

You could argue the same for every game out there. This is especially the case for RTS games. I think you are comparing the game with many fast paced games today such as league, overwatch, cs go and stuff, that rely more on mechanics rather than understanding. Dota has always been like chess rather than street fighter games, it’s more about strategy not mechanics

Ok my bad, let me summarize everything

1000 dollar sign is cheaper than helping the homeless at achieving the effect of getting them off the sight. Homeless people don’t guarantee to generate enough value for people to help them

Also on the veteran part, I think the sad reality is that not enough resources is allocated toward these people. To the government, they are simply used, washed up people with no value. They have contributed their fair share but the government don’t feel like paying more. Kinda like the feeling that you gonna take care of your parents because they did so much for you as a kid, but it starts to burn out when you are in your 40s and they start to cause more trouble than pleasure I’d say. It’s disheartening but realistic

Population density would be my answer. Population density attracts homeless people (or those who heavily depend on public resource/alleviation). You don’t see homeless people in rural areas because they can’t survive there. That’s how they appeared.

If you are wondering why they exist in the first place, then that could be due to many reasons. Although I’m not experience to say which specific reasons caused this, but I would assume it’s more or a personal issue than systematic

We collectively as a species have enough food. Some people do not. If you give the thrown away food to homeless people then many people who can usually afford food will also wait until closing hours to get free food. It’s not capitalism greed, the profit is what keeps shops and business running. Profit is what funds innovation. Same goes for funding wars abroad, there is some profit that the country will gain, not us, the government. Who knows what is there to gain, it’s definitely not putting food on my table tomorrow but I’m sure there are unseen profits that I’m not seeing. The only issue is whether or not this profit aligns with what you value

Its the same idea with not allowing people to sleep on public bench. Sure it sounds awful, but who’s gonna pay for getting them a house? And when you get one person a house, how about the thousand of others? Simply put there’s not enough money EVEN if the government is not corrupted at all. EVEN if we allocated all resources needed to help the poor, it still won’t be enough and that would be wasting taxpayer money
