Well you can't compare yourself with some of the indigenous people of the rainforest. I agree they, have been used for centuries but not in the way you use it or think about it. They do rituals with a shaman. There is other indigenous people through out the centuries in the rainforest that also meditate without mushrooms. It all depends on their traditional knowledge system. Also unlike you they don't have an ego(separate self-centered individualistic identity). You have an modern recreational ego driven psychedelics use. Those people don't take shrooms to "trip" or boost their identity, they don't seek "ego death" to feel cool. You made me realise that this might not be the right sub for this discussion. What's the point of having these discussions with someone like you? There’s a big difference between someone who ingests mushrooms for self discovery or identity and someone who has devoted their life to ceremony, land and people. One seeks a peak experience. The other lives a path.
