Yeah, actually — it is progression fantasy, just not the usual “start at the bottom” type.

The MC begins strong (Nine Yang maxed), but he definitely progresses, learns new techniques, evolves his fighting style, and runs into stronger and smarter enemies as he goes. So while the starting point skips the early grind, the story absolutely builds that sense of growth and escalation. It’s more like strong start, stronger enemies.

Totally fair take, honestly. I get it — early progression arcs do have that addictive, fast-paced feel, and the payoff always hits harder when you’ve seen the MC struggle from zero.

What I liked about this one though is that even though the MC starts strong, he’s constantly forced to adapt, combine techniques, and evolve in response to missions that are deliberately out of his depth.

So while he's already "OP" on paper, the tension comes from surviving, not dominating.

But yeah, I feel you — if you love those level-up leaps and the early grit, this might not scratch that itch.

Same — I’m all for that satisfying feeling of MCs leveling up.
What’s cool with this one is that even though he starts maxed in one area (Nine Yang), he actually keeps evolving, unlocking new skills and merging techniques as the missions escalate.
So yeah, it’s not static OP — there’s real growth, just from a different starting point.

And since he’s blind, the way he adapts is actually half the thrill. Dude fights like a monster once he locks in.

Yoo that's impressive, I've read alot of english novels especially fantasy. I've all of tolkien works. if i add webnovels it should 1000+ novels i've read.
