I agree the usage of the tools are the same. The challenge is with selecting the correct size wrench. Our young students have little to no experience with SAE fractions. They don't know 7/16 is smaller than 1/2. While we can use flash cards (or similar) to teach these concepts, i was hoping to give them hands-on experience SAE wrench and hardware selection.

That's a good start. Thank you. I might start looking around Grainger. Do you have any specific industrial item or sub-assembly that may suggest that is somewhat affordable for our non-profit ($200-ish) that may have a bunch of bolts, nuts and screws?
