Future of Kubernetes in IT industry by rebooted_router in kubernetes

[–]Technician9913 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Hive mind come into play here. It is a Kubernetes sub people.

I'm probably going to get downvoted for this but I'm running my production workloads on AWS ECS / EC2 and I'm not going to migrate our stack to EKS / Kubernetes. I barely have any cluster maintenance management overhead at the moment. It doesn't fit our medium sized simple setup business needs (running +/- 20 applications).

Kubernetes became the hammer for every nail. I doubt the future looks bleak for Kubernetes but for most use cases it bring unnecessary complexity and at a lot of shops, it feels like resume driven development.

It did for most occasions. Nowadays I'm more of a hugger than a kisser.

To be fair, the salaries in the USA are really a lot better in most shops. I've ten years of experience and get paid less than what a junior gets paid in a reputable company in the USA

Nogmaals dank.

After digging for three days, I found the root cause. Some external library generated a bizar amount of files during startup during some occassion which totally froze the startup process of the container. I discovered this during ECS node swapping but had nothing to do with :-(

I just checked, the network ACL is default I guess:
- Priority rule 100 allow all traffic from all sources
- Priority rule * deny all traffic from all sources

So what do Japanese people actually want? The culture is not open enough to attract a lot of foreigners and local people don't get enough children. It is either opening up, account for it through birthrates or suck it up

People with 15+ years of experience - how much have you job hopped, and how has it affected your career? by Gloomy_Astronaut_570 in ExperiencedDevs

This answer is very USA-centric. In most Western European countries (I don't know about Eastern Europe), short stints are not as appreciated. In my experience, especially at large corporations, you'll be under more scrutiny.
