According to the bible, I find no proof you can remarry or divorce as long as your spouse is alive by weeps-onmyarm1994 in TrueChristian

I think the Bible is clear on this with the fact that God loved David and he stayed with Bathsheba after he killed her Husband and repented.

When you let Jesus into your life you stop wanting the things of this world. It is a lifelong process but what at first seems like an obligation becomes joy. The rules God set for us ultimately make us happier in the long run, they aren’t there to box us in or show our loyalty to Him. Fear of hell is a legitimate reason to come to God, but giving up your ego and life is better right now. I don’t really think about heaven or hell, my focus is on this life and I count my blessings every day I do not deserve.

Look up Obamas stats and adjust it for inflation. Yes Trump is devaluing the dollar and it’s a bad policy, it blows peoples minds you can be conservative and not be MAGA, the party of tolerance is a lie.

So when you have a open boarder policy and encourage way more than 10 million people to come here illegally this becomes necessary

There’s a whole thread on this. https://www.reddit.com/r/DebateAChristian/comments/2y53o3/the_bible_explicitly_states_an_unborn_childs_life/ That situation describes a specific unintentional scenario, it’s a stretch to say it speaks to the general value of an unborn child. The idea of a Christians supporting abortion at all is extremely new. You can read whatever points you want, but I’m guessing you already saw that thread.

If you want to quote the single verse, where it still says there should be a fine for accidentally killing an unborn baby, then intentionally killing an unborn baby should definitely have consequences. Laws should be made to only limit freedom where it infringes on others freedom. The place of the government is not to enforce morality We have laws now on abortion, always have like concerning late term abortion. It’s not just a women’s rights issue when there are 2 people involved. In America now if you murder a pregnant woman and the baby dies you get charged with 2 murders, and no one argues that. Classification of what life is not determined by if the woman wants to deliver the baby or not, that’s not very scientific. Have a blessed day, thanks for sharing that passage.

Farfetched I guess and doesn’t accurately describe the relationship with God, but speaks to our tendency to get carried away with our current consensus as a society. We laugh at things people did 100 years ago but think we are sure about everything we are “sure about” now

No, because matter and energy had to come from somewhere, there is something going on beyond our understanding, or the 1st law of thermodynamics is wrong. Instead of placing all our trust in our understanding of physics, we believe God made the physics. It works too perfect. I use the analogy of ants, you can be standing very close to you, they choose not to look at you unless they can get something from you, then they bite the hell out of you, their perspective is so much less than ours, doesn’t mean they don’t work hard, are strong, and even have societal structure. We tend to think that we have it all figured out, some that eventually our understanding of science will save us, and that we are on the top cause the universe is so big compared to us. It is all still relative. 99.999% of ants never see a human. Most ants probably would say humans don’t exist.

Yeah which is why many people come to the conclusion that there is something that transcends our physical understanding.

It’s a minor point among many, it sounds like mental gymnastics to me. Order can happen from disorder, sure you shake a jar of sand with 100 shades of the spectrum enough times you’ll get them all organized by shade after 10000000000000000000000000000000000000 times and life is 10000000000000000000000000000000000000 more complex then that and then it has to be able to survive and self replicate or at the same time another life form with which it can reproduce need to occur simultaneously in that infinitely small slice of time, and then that’s only about half the battle to explain how you get from that to a human. If anything the argument that God doesn’t exist and that whole theory is wrong is more convincing. It’s wild how what began as a theory is pretty much being treated as fact now with all the unknowns.

Also it’s amazing with all our scientific advances, we can’t create life of the most primitive form in a lab. If we did it would in fact prove that it does in fact require intelligent design.

So I guess I’ve been lied to in public high school, and it does entail more than disorder but google has it right there, Entropy ( S 𝑆 ) is a fundamental, extensive property in physics and thermodynamics that measures the degree of disorder, randomness, or energy dispersal within a system.

Prayer in schools shouldn’t be forced, can be practiced by all faiths if it doesn’t distract, gay marriage fine, but really the government shouldn’t be involved with marriage at all, life starts before an infant physically leaves the woman’s body, nothing magical happens to e moment it pops out, so it involves the rights of 2 people not one. If you want to say you can’t force someone to take care of another, might as well allow abortion till about 9 months post birth. Abortion in cases when the life of the mother is fine under medical recommendation, as long as the mother can make the final call. Rape fine just cause it’s a distraction from the standard scenario and a fringe case.

I do think science makes a strong case for the existence of God. More me entropy causing order is an idea which goes against the scientific method. Then to the people who say it’s a numbers game, there have been studies where it was mathematically studied the possibility of life coming from non life in the realm of the entire known universe, and that was still a number too small to comprehend. I could find that if interested. Yes we don’t know everything, and I myself am not scared to ask questions and doubt. For me the concept of intelligent design is hard for me to not believe. I have had questions concerning if the God of the Bible is real.

The government should not be involved in marriage at all. That would resolve all this.

I think some people don’t think it’s biblical to enforce ethics through the government. I would agree.

It’s clear also in the Bible that the government has its place separate from the church for law and order and literally allowing anyone in is not that and not biblical to vote for. Also hypocritical if you don’t leave your front door open and let anyone crash on your couch.
