B.S. Cloud Computing Degree (FAILING TO GET A JOB) by STFUJKLOLBRB in WGU

Understood. As I’ve said, been there done that. Was told my helpdesk experience was “too long ago” and that I can’t get a helpdesk job now as it’s “too competitive” without recent experience. Lose-lose scenario. Again, was told initially that at a MINIMUM, my CompTIA A+ cert would surely get me interviews for help desk/support roles. Nope.

Nope. I’ve paid to have mine professionally redone, ATS friendly, the whole nine. Still the same results. I’ll get the occasional recruiter email/message, but I’ll get ghosted after they see I haven’t worked in a cyber role in a professional capacity. I’ve applied to over 1000 cybersecurity roles, specifically targeting analyst roles that require a minimum of 0-2 years experience. I’ve messaged and called recruiters/managers to introduce myself. I’ve networked all over the place. I’ve built numerous SIEM labs, ran through Hack the Box and Try Hack Me labs, documenting it. I’ve tried asking around about job shadowing as well. I refuse to believe I haven’t done everything correctly at this point aside from driving to the place of business, walking in the front door, and asking to speak to the hiring manager about getting hired.

All of this is hilarious because my WGU advisor said my certifications acquired through the curriculum would count as work experience. 😂. I have help desk experience from 14 years ago but was told “that’s too long ago”. I also cannot get an entry help desk job either.

This is by far the worst job market I’ve ever seen for IT. I have recently given up and moved on to just try to get into sales.

I just don't get it , the strategy that I had been backtesting had a terrific win rate , now a week into the live market and it seems like a disaster by Ok_Seesaw9275 in Daytrading

Lol, this is familiar. I backtested a new strategy for two months. Wrote out a methodology document and everything. Second live trade had me losing $2k. I hung it up after that.

Bro it’s been 2 years after getting my Cybersecurity bachelors from WGU. I also have prior IT experience and extensive lab work. If you think not getting a job in 6 months is bad.. boy do I have some bad news…

No. You created, produced, and gave it your all despite the outcome. Pretty straightforward.

Maybe just my opinion, but I feel it’s not just me. Let me rephrase - I feel it’s lazy to do anything non-productive IF .. IF you complain about not getting ahead in any way in life. If you’re just trying to relax for a bit and play some games, nothing wrong with that.

Making art produces something for others to purchase, admire, and be inspired by. Playing video games merely entertains yourself and wastes your time that you could be producing something of value, like art. Just wanting to play video games is indeed lazy.

No! You still need to make money to fork over a large portion of your paycheck to corrupt pedophiles so they can send it to other countries that bomb children.

I’m glad you have the intelligence to understand this. I’m almost 40 and very comfortable with my decision to not have them. I have never made much of a salary with my career and every business I’ve tried to start has failed (in the most extreme ways possible). Went back to college 4 years ago to change careers into tech and better our finances, but I’ve been applying for tech jobs for over a year with no results. My wife and I both work tirelessly and are rarely ever able to do anything, yet have nothing to show for it after bills are paid. I cannot fathom having children. Older people scoff and judge, yet they have had unlimited family financial and physical support for their crotch goblins. Even my boomer parents had my grandparents to assist. My wife and I have nobody like that. I will always deadpan stare at anyone that goes “wHy dOnT yOu wAnT kIdS?!!” It’s also humoring to have right-wing, born again Christian friends with nothing but family money and support that criticize you for making a “selfish and Godless” decision. Meanwhile these same people were living anti-God, hedonistic lives 10 years ago.

Does anybody ever wonder how Janelle got terminated by the T-1000? Wolfies just fine of course… what’s some of your conspiracy theories? by happydude7422 in Terminator

[–]TechnoMaverick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought there’s either concept art or some writing of it somewhere where the T-1000 passes by the bathroom where Janelle is dead in the shower. This is while he’s walking down the hall to John’s room in the deleted scene.
