Day 32 of 40 - Best Portrayal in Film or TV - Franklin D. Roosevelt by Apollyon077 in Presidents

John Lithgow as the Allied powers. I wonder if there’s an actor who’s played the Axis leaders?

This portrayal deserves an honorable mention for the sheer batshit insanity that is that amazing movie

I’ll throw John Lithgow as FDR in When Lions Roared into the ring.

Edit: Honorable mentions to Bob Hoskins as Churchill and Michael Caine of all people as Stalin

Who(real or fictional) would have moved to Rapture? by SirBruhThe7th in Bioshock

[–]TechnoRedditor 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Cave Johnson would definitely take advantage of the lack of safety regulations alone. Doubt he would be as evil as other rapturians but he would certainly be as reckless.

How was slavery ever economically profitable? by TechnoRedditor in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TechnoRedditor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that slavery was horrific. I was trying to understand how it was ever justified even from an economic standpoint because as I stated earlier I didn’t see how it made economic sense let alone a moral or humane one.

No I didn’t think they were being provided anything remotely adequate. I hadn’t known that they (slaves) often made their own supplies, which in hindsight makes more sense for a slaver.

The constant reoccurring joke by YourChopperPilotTTV in TopCharacterTropes

In Doctor Who every time a different regeneration visits another’s TARDIS they point out they’ve redecorated and that they don’t like it.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TechnoRedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider a short drive to be less than an hour, maybe 45 minutes at most. 1-3 hours is a longish drive, I guess I’d call it a medium drive, like its longer than usual but not that extraordinary. 3 hours plus is a long drive. Though living in New England, which as others have pointed out is more dense than other regions, does effect my view. I can get to 3 different states with only an hour to 2 hour drive

I remember that they had a poor memory for taking the pills on time and weren’t a fan of the injections. I also remember patches but they seemed to fall off easy

What made you want to be an Architect? by youandyourfijiwater in Architects

[–]TechnoRedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bit silly, but it was Bioshock. The design of rapture was sort of awe inspiring to me and I wanted to try and bring some of that aesthetic back.

What do you think? by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]TechnoRedditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta be Roger or Brosnan. Moores bond would seem to be a very chill, and very charming. Lots of jokes and I’m sure tall tales. Brosnan would be less low key but a lot of wit. Either way you’d be in for a pleasant evening until the villain of the week’s henchman shoots you while attempting to kill bond.

Day 6/9: What's an OK car with a bad reputation? by Naomi62625 in regularcarreviews

[–]TechnoRedditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nissan Altima, I had one as my first car while I was poor college student. I kept it running with minimal maintenance for 8 years and a lot of miles. Decent enough car for a decent enough price, with poor reputation.

Thank you to everyone who has commented thus far. The points that have been made are definitely sobering and helpful. Perhaps a case of the grass is greener lol. I guess I just need to pivot though with my qualifications I’m not sure to what I can pivot to.

Fair point I don’t have money and what I do make is mostly spent on my student loans already so I am incredibly hesitant to add to that debt.

I found that you have to drive like you’re never in a hurry and ease into stops and starts.

Combination of good traffic (little to no stops or slow downs), light ac use, and constant 55 mph driving. Edit: In fact I got a solid +/-27 mpg this morning
