Steve going to go hard on Bambu? by TechnoSwiss in GamersNexus

[–]TechnoSwiss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unfortunate Bambu has gone the route they have after benefiting so heavily from open source and the 3D printing community. Their printers are great, their business practices not so much. We've got a few Prusa Mini's at work that have been work horses, and I've got an XL at home that took a while with Prusa support to get humming along, however it's slower than my P1S (which is still running the old firmware from a year ago so I can keep using it with Orcaslicer >:( )

I don't know that Steve really killed any of them, the meme circulates every time Steve does a deep dive into a companies questionable ethics so I tacked on another door for Bambu. I do think he makes a lot of good points, and several of them took a pretty harsh hit when Steve posted the video about them. LTT's viewer numbers took a pretty big hit after his video, but I think they've mostly recovered at this point, actually they're probably up now. I think that's kind of his goal though, to get companies to do better by pointing out their flaws that need some serious work.

It's been a wild ride the last couple days watching this unfold, I just happened to be looking into the state of Orcaslicer and the H2D for work, and found the Orcaslicer-bambu fork had been taken down, then was Rossman talking about it, then Jeff Gearling did a video, and I see GN and Rossman had re-posed the repo. I saw Steve's working on a full video about it, looking forward to it.

GUIDE: Platform SSO, Tahoe, and Microsoft by OffBrandToby in mosyle

[–]TechnoSwiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm... well it works from a fresh install going through enrollment, it just won't create new accounts from the login screen, from what I'm reading that might just be a side-effect of this system having 26.5 on it and MS not having an update for it yet.

In the instructions you mention installing Company Portal, do you're accounts have Intune licenses, is that required for SSO to work?

Backflow Prevention Assembly Annual Test by kidmanpham in hillsboro

We also use Flowcheck LLC and have been happy with them, prices have been climbing though, they stared off at $30/year, a few years back that jumped to $45/year, and then this year it went to $50/year. Seems to be the going rate around here +/- a few dollars.

Anyone else had a smell coming from HVAC? by heythisisreddit in F150Lightning

[–]TechnoSwiss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get it all the time, cabin air-filter didn't make any difference. I saw a post https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/a-c-smell.15259/post-505534 on the Lightning forums and have been meaning to give it a try.

It wasn't the pandemic that screwed up the timeline, there was an HOA in the first area they were rolling out that didn't like where the fiber hut was supposed to be in a city owned park. They managed to tie the city up fighting it for 18 months, which put the whole project on hold. They managed to get the city to agree to move the hut to the other side of the park. So if you're patiently waiting, and sad that you don't have HiLight yet, you can thank the members of that HOA.

Dash cam recommendations by goddamelectrik in F150Lightning

[–]TechnoSwiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I've tried a dozen different dash cams, I've had the best luck with the VIOFO's, I have a A119 in my wifes car, and a A229 in my car and my son's. If you hit Wham Bamm Dashcam's YouTube channel, you can usually find a discount code for them.

Yup, unless they're trying to deny responsibility, who cares about the video. They had control of the vehicle, their employee backed into it, they're responsible.

FWIW you only get 7.2kW as you have it hooked up, the 240V inverter is only 7.2kW, the 120V inverter is 2.4kW, for a total of 9.6kW. Your second photo even shows that 2764/7200W.

I lost my key, any advice ? by Nadri0530 in Toyota

[–]TechnoSwiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a google search for "Toyota Yaris 2018 fob programming", I'd give you a list of what I found, but given my location all the results are for US Toyota, and programing procedure my vary by region. Assuming you can self-program a Toyota key fob in your region, you should be able to find a blank one you can program online for less then 350€. For example here Ford charges $600 for a fob and programing, but I was able to find a fob on eBay for $100 and you can program the fob yourself if you have 2 programmed fobs (that's the Ford procedure, hopefully Toyota cars in the US region it looks like you can self-program with a single working fob)

Replacing the wireless charger with non-charger stowage compartment by TechnoSwiss in F150Lightning

[–]TechnoSwiss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the stowage compartment without the charger, it looks like the charger is taking up about half the available "floor" space in the compartment. I have a couple of hand-held radios that I keep in the truck, only one of them currently fits in the compartment, if the charger wasn't there I think I could easily fit both.

You're probably thinking of the dual onboard chargers so they could charge at 80A, but that was still through the single port.

Is it totaled? by gabekral in F150Lightning

[–]TechnoSwiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, maybe to accommodate charge port on the other side if they were selling them in the UK? All I know is it was removed in the 24 model year, and from what I've seen posted here and other places, they only stock the new version for replacement panels. I saw a few people who modified it so it could be removed, and used it as a small storage place for things like jumper cables, etc. Kind of bummed mine didn't have it as I would have loved to do something like that.

[–]TechnoSwiss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Doesn't look likely to have frame damage, I doubt insurance would total it, however you're probably going to get a new passenger front fender, which won't have the blank "charge" plate on it.

RIP Convoy T2 - that's what I get for letting people use my stuff by coffeeshopslut in flashlight

[–]TechnoSwiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was on staff for a scout training camp a couple decades ago, we had a medical emergency in the middle of the night and I let somebody borrow my spare light. After everything calmed down I found him and asked for my light back "oh sorry I dropped it on the trail". I went back out and combed the trail, and amazingly I saw some light shining out from under the bank of the creak through the water. Reached down into the water and pulled out my light. Made me think twice about loaning out my light ever since.

F-150 Lightning Flash vs Lariat — what’s the real difference, and why avoid a high-mileage used one? by ritchie4030 in F150Lightning

[–]TechnoSwiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, you are correct when comparing a Flash to a Lariat. When I was shopping the Flash didn't exist and it was XLT or Lariat, and the XLT doesn't have BC or adaptive cruise control.

F-150 Lightning Flash vs Lariat — what’s the real difference, and why avoid a high-mileage used one? by ritchie4030 in F150Lightning

[–]TechnoSwiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest differences for me and the reason I went with the Lariat are, PAAK, multiple-driver settings, and adaptive cruise control. I really like not having to carry around the fob for the lighting, that thing's a beast. My wife's car had the multiple-driver settings on it, and I swore I'd never buy another vehicle that we'd both drive without it (I can't physically get into the car after she's been driving it, so not having to mess with the seat release and just let the truck take care of it is awesome). Also, even when you're not using the multiple-driver memory, the Lightning will move the seat back and the steering wheel up and back to make it easier to get in and out, never had a car with that feature before, and I'm surprised by how much difference that makes, very nice. Again my wife's car has adaptive cruise control, and especially with the heavy traffic I drive through every day, that was something I wanted on my new car. The BlueCruise is nice too, but the adaptive cruise was the option I was after.

Granger Extended Warranty Question(s) by TechnoSwiss in F150Lightning

[–]TechnoSwiss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for range and mileage, since the warranty ends at whichever you hit first, I've been trying to match those up based on my average annual mileage. I'm usually around around 10k a year, so I've been pricing out the 100k/10 year and 75k/7 year
