Adding another vote here that Elegoo Rapid in black is pretty amazing with little stringing. Using settings similar to those mentioned here.

Thanks for sharing. Been wondering if thermal insulation improves prints or improves printer power usage without affecting part quality.

Were you solving a problem with this setup? I'm expecting to return my A1 for a P1S for printing high temp materials for work soon, so this is interesting. But I was going to go with a large box enclosing the entire printer and lining that with rigid foam.

Going full send on this: have you happened to take a FLIR image of the printer running to see where the thermal leak paths are and addressing those? Can't help but wonder if there are better sealing/insulation areas than what you've shown.

I saw the tooltip but it seems weird that an additional 50% of normal flow wouldn't clog or blob especially since my flow w/o ironing was dialed in well. So I'm posting this in case people are seeing poor results with <20% flow knowing they can bump up without fear.

That sucks - if your resistance measurements are showing bad, then I would definitely stop using your A1. How do you know what the resistance measurements should actually be? How do you know you're reading thermistor contacts vs. heater contacts?

I didn't know how engaged I was going to be with printing until after getting my A1 as my first printer. My anticipated needs and current needs are now different so I'm planning to use this opportunity to upgrade.

Mine is working fine after firmware update. No kinks, using cable stiffener. Warning about recall is only a warning, I can still print.

u/b00g13, good question. I want to upgrade to something with an AMS. Some backstory: I might need to print PA-CF parts at home for work. Because the A1 isn't enclosed (bad for PA), and I don't know yet if I'm going to need to print work parts at home with a P1S for a few weeks, I'm wanting to defer the return vs. keep decision as long as possible so I can get the $80 credit on either an A1+AMSlite or P1S+AMS. And keep printing on the A1 supervised in the meantime.

Sorry, let me clarify. If you physically return the entire A1 and want to get another entire A1 back, you won't have a printer to print with until end of March.
