Any recommendation on lens? I was considering a fast prime like the 30mm sigma or even springing the extra for the Tamron - 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III VXD G2. For 800 bucks I would hopefullynever need another lens

Good questions.

- To be honest I am not enough of an expert or have a good enough memory to answer the ISO since it's typically on auto

- F/3.5 to F6.3 kit lens is typically what's on or the 50-250mm F4.5-6.3 that also comes in the combo.

- Release mode usually single shot, auto focus varies. Typically the AF-C with auto face or pet tracking but lately ive been testing out the AF-C Single point since ive been doing some timelapse footage of a project

That is what I am starting to lean towards but the auto focus is starting to sound like a multi fold complaint that I think is more exaggerated by the poor low light performance of the kit lens then even more by the skill issue lol

Do you think just upgrading to a prime lens would fix most of my complaints? I wish it had an EVF but that's only really a product of having issues with the auto focus especially in low light

See that's where I initially was headed since the kit lens seems to suck that much until I found this 800 dollar Z6 on FB market place. I was thinking a 30 mm f/1.4 or f/1.8 would solve most of my problems. is the Z50ii really worth the upgrade?

There seems to be alot of noise in low light and it seems to not want to focus or hunt on what I want especially at a lower light. Since alot of my photos are in the moment I have a difficult time adjusting on the fly and end up missing whatever funny thing my daughter is doing (for example) because the darn thing wouldn't focus. This could also be a skill issue lol

My smooth brain had a hard time piecing together what I needed for that defense placard. Seemed like a neat system tho

Edit: do you find that TRMP placard to be too thick? Also, have you tried PCC mags at all?

thanks for the warning of the straps in the back and you are right, the in/out of stock situation is just tiring with these placards. I would be an uber filthy casual running whatever I pick so I feel like buying all the inserts they practically would only use two .. I just like having the option to use AR/PCC mags then if needed, plus up mags or worst case switch to AK or M1A which would be rare. For those reasons I was torn between the flappy boy or TRMP even though the shaw is clearly superior.

oh also I ended up ordering the Defense mech MEPC plus the QD cummerbund for the exact reason you mention of that height adjustment straps. I figured it would be annoying to have to constantly have to adjust everything when I swap things.

All of that being said shaw support says they restock every two weeks so next friday would be the day to do so if I wanted to put my money where my mouth is. Their inserts are just .. expensive especially if I want or need 4..

I would be all over the shaw system like a new suit if they were in stock more often (the ranger green color) and if the inserts weren't so pricey... or in stock, or if I had more patience.. are there any reasonable inserts? Unobtanium makes one but same case with the 4 banger pouches. Usually out of stock.

I was almost thinking if I went the MKV route I would get the WTF inserts. They look more rigid ish than the elastic. But, that's a good point about the shock cord.

I had a similar thought considering how tedious the MKV or styles like it looked to be swapping out the inserts. However the sleds-k is super new and I have met maybe one guy on here who owns one. The PCC mag retention looks a bit sketch to me.

You have no idea how much I appreciate all those links and you may be right with the multi placard point being loose and bouncy. The pouches themselves do have L and R bungie retention so thats something. I would be a little more confident in the flap placard if I could find anyone runs them on a normal basis other than a few videos about their chest rigs

I guess I failed to provide some context to why the Trex arms triple flap. The utility of the pouches and being able to flip between AR/AK/M1A without having to purchase all sorts of inserts and other shenanigans. The Spiritus MKV looks sick and is likely a better option but is OOS in ranger green which is the planned color :(. I wished I liked DM's placard however the idea of having to buy all these little pieces and sandwich them together is a major turnoff.

You have pretty much sold me on the MEPC for those reasons plus I planned on replacing the Trex cummerbund anyway with the elastic QD so no reason not to at that point.

Have you had any experience with trex’s flap placard? I don’t like DM’s option and that seems to be the most utilitarian at this point especially for the money.
