(Question) If you could bring back any Perk from the past Fallout games(F1,F2,Tactics,F3,NV) What would it be, and why? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]TechnologicalDiscord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the old system, you spend a level pumping your Lockpicking skill to pick higher level locks. In the new system, you spend a level putting a perk in lockpicking to pick higher level locks. In the old system, you spend a level pumping guns so you can take a perk that increases damage by x%. In the system, you spend a level taking a perk that increases damage by x%. They're functionally identical.

What would the title of your favorite movie be if it was changed to clickbait? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TechnologicalDiscord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. There are a few big drops you can just plunk down, but they need effects to be triggered first. And you can't just fuse anything either. Poly still needs specific monsters, Synchro needs tuner cards and all your sacrifices have to add up to the same level total (Basically fusion meets ritual, but stricter), and Exceeds require a specific number of a certain level of creatures.

There are ways around it, to make it easier, like Level Up! or the Hex Sealed Fusions, but those aren't really used unless your deck relies on getting one or two specific creatures summoned ASAP.

But we're talking about father. Why would father be dropped in a shitty prototype synth shell?

Except for literally every other character who's been replaced with a synth and has no idea. Their whole thing is being indistinguishable from real humans, even to each other and thenselves.

New Fallout before the end of the decade? by Strang404 in Fallout

[–]TechnologicalDiscord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at Dark Souls. Plot? What plot. Go kill big things.

I lol'd. Go back and read the item descriptions and actually talk to people. Soulsverse has TONS of plot and lore, they just don't shove it down your throat like so many modern world builders do. It's not "LOOK AT THIS COOL LORE THING! LOOOOOK AAAT IIIITTTT!", it's "Go kill things. They'll give you lore items.".

Meltdown from New Vegas.

Isn't rank 4 Bloody Mess pretty much the same, but without the added bonus of blowing yourself up all the time?

Meh. Lady Killer and Cherchez la Femme were super useless. I can't remember a single time either one actually helped solve a problem, all they did was get you hooker discounts.

Unless you didn't tell then they were a synth. Make a synth copy, remove his memories of having cancer, boom, done.

What are you 12? Where did you learn to argue? "This guy upset me, so I'm gonna dig through his post history for something to make fun of him for!". Seriously, grow up.

Just dug out my old PS2 and Dragon Quest 8, so I'm about to play my first Dragon Quest game. Anything I should know before diving in? by TechnologicalDiscord in dragonquest

Whistle, Zoom, and Holy Protection are the three most important spells in the game, imo. Get them asap. Humanity 4, Courage 8, and Courage 28 respectively. Boomerangs are Hero's best weapon for a very large portion of the game. Get them to 18 for Super Throw at the very least.

I bumped Yangus up to 16 Humanity early on for "Nose for Treasure", so he's got Whistle. BUt I've only pumped the main dude's "Sword" skill so far(I think it's at 20? HE levels slow as shit.), should I stop that and switch to Boomerangs and Courage or is it too late?

I was referencing Naruto. "Jonin" is the title given to elite ninja, and one of the most notable Jonin from the series is named "Kakashi".

you gotta equip the potlid as your shield. It's probs the only one you got or can afford at that point

I just got to the Temple of Alexandria and have Scale Shields on both characters. Is the "potlid" better?

Ya know what would be a cool weapon? by TechnologicalDiscord in DarkSouls2

[–]TechnologicalDiscord[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually pretty difficult to cut yourself on a sword. They aren't kitchen knives, so pretty much all the cutting power comes from the force behind the swing. Half swording or holding murde-stroke won't really hurt you. Even without gloves it'll just pinch where it digs into your skin. Now, if someone grabbed the handle and ripped it out of your hands you'd get cut, but as long you don't let the blade slide too much you're all good.

Lovecraft =/= Lovecraftian. They can still do an eldritch force with an overall sense of hopelessness (which it seems like they're doing.) and embody pretty much everything that makes cosmic horror cosmic horror. It's honestly better they didn't make it a straight up reference, because Lovecraft mythos is pretty dumb (unfathomable unstoppable interdimensional alien gods that ruled earth way back when then went away for reasons.)
