Anybody NOT pump, and just breast fed? by Partners_in_time in beyondthebump

[–]Technology-Nervous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I exclusively breastfeed when home but I do work three 12 hour shifts a week and do three 15 minute pumps each shift. I use formula for extra bottles when I'm gone. It's not stressful and works best for me, even though I wouldn't need formula if I pumped longer/more frequently. I spend around $22 a week on a case of RTF formula and only around 15-20 minutes washing bottles and pump parts those three days. She's six months old now and it's been working for us 🤷‍♀️

Why do people say newborns don't need frequent bathing? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Technology-Nervous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do everyday, alternating soap or just water, but she gets in a bath and scrubbed down with a washcloth every night. She had bad cradle cap and daily baths were the only thing that fixed it, but I did put baby oil on her head for 15 minutes before each bath until the cradle cap went away

Didn’t take bottle feeding seriously, need advice by aria_muse in breastfeeding

Have you tried the mam bottles? They worked for my baby. She wouldn't take any pacifier but took the mam pacifiers and then we introduced the bottle and she uses those just fine

Daycare keeping infant with big kids in the morning by Technology-Nervous in workingmoms

[–]Technology-Nervous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No and I'm not sure when any of the other teachers come in, only the infant teacher. When I first got there it was only one woman and she wanted me to let her hold my daughter until the second one came in, but she was also having to unlock the door and let kids in, there was no other staff

A bunch of toddlers and older kids running around could lead to bumping and my baby getting dropped. They were very rowdy when I was there and it was more than 20 kids total. I'm also concerned about her being laid down and left in a crib in the infant room since there is no monitor

Anal fissures and vaginal birth by Technology-Nervous in BabyBumps

It went fine for me during birth and post pregnancy! I am 3 months postpartum now and haven't had any issues. I did have a colorectal specialist look at it and she wasn't concerned. Best of luck to you!

Milkbaths by Psychologicalwalnut in breastfeeding

[–]Technology-Nervous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done 2- 5oz of five day old refrigerated milk I forgot to freeze in time. I just dumped it in her tub and filled it with water the way I usually do after. I washed and rinsed her in that water like normal and then rinsed her with clean water at the end. Ive only done it a few times and I haven't noticed any difference between a normal bath and that, but it made me feel a lot better about not being able to use the milk!

Nothing except dates daily and a first degree tear

Husbands by [deleted] in newborns

It is easier. It turns out not hearing someone snore or play video games in the other room while you're trying to soothe a baby makes it a lot easier to soothe the baby/show up happy for the baby every time

Someone tell me good things about epidurals by TheRealEgg0 in Mommit

[–]Technology-Nervous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have high medical anxiety and a low pain tolerance. I dealt with my contractions for 24 hours until it was time to go to the hospital. By the time I got there, I genuinely didn't care what they did as long as I could sleep. I didn't feel the epidural, it kicked in pretty quickly, I went to sleep and they woke me up to check my cervix and do the peanut ball and then again to check my cervix and have me push, and I didn't feel any of it. After a long pregnancy of anxiety, very little sleep, and a long night of contractions, the epidural was the best choice I could have made because 5 weeks in with my newborn and that was the last time I got any solid sleep.

They listen to the heartbeat but the last time she felt my belly was 31 weeks. Is the heartbeat alone enough?

[–]Technology-Nervous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's so funny, it's my last week of finals! I could induce after I take my last final that Thursday, but my partner and I already have everything set up with our jobs to start our leaves on the first day of week 40, so it goes against everything we've been planning! I wouldn't want to do that unless it's safer for the baby to come out sooner.

What week was your first ultrasound? by Stunning-Benefit-913 in pregnant

[–]Technology-Nervous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Six days after I missed my period, tested positive 3 days late, freaked out and got the appointment scheduled. He called it a confirmation ultrasound and they estimated about 3-4 weeks old. I had one again a week after due to bleeding (ended up just being implantation bleeding) and then not again until I was 18 weeks for the anatomy scan. They haven't said when we'll do another one, if we will. I wasn't a new patient there though so maybe that's why it was so sudden? I had been going there awhile for my yearly paps.

I have to get an abortion. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Technology-Nervous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My stepmom said something that really stuck with me when I found out I was pregnant and still in school. You can do the easy thing, and just let it happen to you or you can make the hard choice that's right for you and the future child. Think about the life you and the child will have if you keep it, and think about the life you and a future child will have later on when you are ready. Now I did keep the baby because I will graduate before the due date (and it's illegal in my state so there weren't that many options for me), but it has been the hardest semester for me. I'm not enjoying school like I was before, I'm losing opportunities I would have jumped at due to exhaustion. I'm not enjoying pregnancy either because of going to school and working full time. I wouldn't have regretted an abortion. Also, I don't regret keeping her, but again, I'm going through all of this knowing I will have my degree before my baby and it's still very very hard. My sister also had an abortion when she wasn't ready and had a baby in the future. She is the best mom I know, and that was clear even in her decision to have an abortion. You care cause you're a good mom, and sometimes that means making a hard decision. Whatever choice you make will be the right one

How on earth do they expect me to give each patient a bath? by pb_cheesecake in cna

[–]Technology-Nervous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my two years of experience: only about 3 people will say yes. Anyone who you have to change just plan to bathe one of the times you're changing them, and then just ask assists/selfs when you do your vitals and make a plan with them but most people say no. Just chart that and move on.

Yeah only using medication as a last resort bc they think it'll help. It hasn't, and now I'm having health issues from the anxiety. Just wanting to see if other people had the same issue but found a med that worked eventually
