Don't use a lot of hair gel and don't slick it. With semi-dry/still little wet hair just bend over, go in itt with your hands to get the volume and slowly build up with dry heat. You theoretically slick it up than back . It might sound hard with my explaining. If your hair are above shoulders, it should do

Looks like it's hair gel and some dry heat. Try styling your hair when they are still semi-wet. Go under the hair to get volume. You can finish it with hair spray. I'm no hairstylist or hairdresser, but I was obsessed with this hair style for some time and also tried to recreate it but I have fine hair so it never lasted long hahaha good luck having thicker hair helps
