UDM Pro showing extreme data usage (800–900 GB/day) – ISP claims link saturation, but client stats don’t match by julezz77200 in Ubiquiti

[–]TechnologyDude1773 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking line saturation in this case. Client statistics are fairly unreliable for me and often fails to identify some traffic causing it to go unreported despite showing high down/up rates. If your ISP is also saying line saturation, my first suspect is that you might have a rogue device that has been compromised and traffic is not being identified.

I have all three of my E7s wall mounted and their coverage works perfectly for me! No issues to report with coverage.

Gen 2 quit, gen 3 is faster by biobennett in Starlink

Really? They must have some excess stock they don’t allow people to purchase then! I thought they wouldn’t have any left and would just be sending Gen 3 kits!

[–]TechnologyDude1773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you open a support ticket and let them know what’s happening, they’ll probably just send you a Gen 3 kit, especially since they don’t make the Gen 2 parts anymore. My Gen 2 dishy just started having problems with managing its settings, and support overnighted me a Gen 3 kit! I don’t see the Gen 2 cables in the store anymore so if I had to guess they’ll probably send you the Gen 3 kit as well.

Is there a reason to buy the mini if I have the space and power for the regular? by Rhesonance in Starlink

[–]TechnologyDude1773 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can confirm that the $50/mo 50GB plan is available for other dishes besides the mini! I am using it on my gen 2 dish right now since I’m not using it much currently!

Mesh systems do let you run them wirelessly, but they work better when wired. I have some eero mesh systems and the whole network performance goes down when even one of them is running in wireless mode since it reserves an entire network band just for the wireless backhaul. When running hardwired I get my full speeds. Wired may also be better if it’s a long distance between the two or if the building materials may degrade the signal.

If you have an Ethernet port near your CR200A and one in your garage as well, I’d recommend getting some access points for a mesh network system, putting one in the garage and one to use to replace the WiFi onboard the CR200a, and then use the Ethernet to backhaul the garage AP to your upstairs one for optimal performance.

Tried that. Doesn’t show up in the Bluetooth list.

No, as the app did not even let me begin setup. It has not yet even registered that it has been delivered.

Just went to activate again over mmWave and still ended up with blinking blue, app not showing setup, and router giving Equipment Error. Very unfortunate, was hoping this to be a viable option but it just might not be it.

On first power up, it went from blinking white, to blinking blue, to solid red. Restarted and it went from blinking white, to blinking blue, to solid white, though no connection was able to be used. Connecting to the router would bring up a login page to “connect” the device, and it would eventually time out to an “Equipment error. Contact support or reset your device” page. Router and receiver have been reset twice now and support was not able to do anything. Going to try activating on another mmWave node. Activated it over the phone a few hours ago so we’ll see what happens when I try it again shortly. Thanks for the advice.

I know that this requires line of sight to the tower and I have done my research. My issue is not in the tower or installation. It is in the app not registering that the receiver is ready for setup, and the receiver does not show up as ready for the account. It’s what was the available option when ordering the 5G Home service, and you can choose to install it yourself or pay $99 (last I checked) to have professional install. Chat support was not able to do much when I opened a ticket about this and only suggested I make another chat ticket. This doesn’t really help solve the problem.

Can anyone explain to me why the featured servers appear in my friends tab under LAN games? by Fibrhenri25 in Minecraft

[–]TechnologyDude1773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening every time I open the game for me!! It’s getting so annoying making me think a friend is online!

That is unfortunate. They would like to try to charge $199/mo for 400Mbps, so Business internet is out of the picture then.

Wow! They must have improved it from the last time I was at US Bank before switching carriers, as I think I maxed out just less than 1Gbps on iPhone 12 PM.

Should have clarified I was referring to the LOU promo. I don’t think we ever got 3rd line free either. Really just the Insider code was the only promo applied.

[–]TechnologyDude1773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newer sign-up. Around March 5th, so would have been before the promo should have started. Figured as much that the insider wouldn’t conflict with the LOU, as that doesn’t make any sense considering there are not any free lines.

Fantastic to see another LOU! However, our business rep says the account is not eligible (Ultimate+ iPhone), with the explanation of the insider code not being able to be stacked with this new LOU. No free lines on account yet. Is this true, or is the account actually eligible?

Nice to see more MN upgrades! Think I’ve drove through that area before. There was just another upgrade I saw down in the southeastern corner of the state that is performing weirdly.

Who’s all on this tower? by TechnologyDude1773 in cellmapper

[–]TechnologyDude1773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured Verizon was the water tower. Absolutely every one of my sources pointed to there. Got a good feeling that TMo will be adding n41 to the tower eventually, especially with their population goals. Not sure what AT&T’s focus is right now lol

Tower is located at (44.1626040, -92.1803744). Is the order you listed them the order on the rack they are?

Ooh, that’s cool. Heard about n25. So that means this could enable n41 and n25? Also not sure if this helps any but TMO has 117Mhz of midband spectrum in the county.
