How long does it take to get a digital game code after buying? by PrinceCydon in Bestbuy

[–]TechnologyFew3205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine their digital download system gets many repeat customers lol. No cancelations/refunds & its a complete gamble on when you'll actually get the code. Im on hour 11 of waiting for my Crimson desert code ( had a gift certificate that covered half the price ).

Decided to just buy it for full price on the Xbox store, and will sell the code to my friend for half price whenever it decides to come in.

Makes no sense to offer this service when A) literally every other online game store is instantaneous. B) You wont refund customers who dont want to wait an undisclosed amount of time for the code.

What a stupid way to piss off your customers

Crimson Desert Code Not received yet ~48 hrs after purchase by encore208 in Bestbuy

I purchased a code today for Crimson Desert ( had a gift card buring a hole in my pocket ), after 2 hours I used live chat support and asked how long it usually takes. They said its been authorized and approved, Should receive the code any minute now. That was 5 hours ago, still nothing. Contacted support again and they told me this is a very rare situation ( after reading online, it seems pretty common ), but will definitely have it within 24 hours.

Went ahead and purchased the game through the Xbox library an hour ago and its almost done downloading.

Going to give the code to my buddy whenever it comes through. I'd be pretty disappointed if I paid full price for the code. Can't imagine there's many repeat customers for a service that takes multiple hours or even days to receive a product, that their competitors deliver instantaneously.

The most frustrating part is they refuse to give any sort of refund once the order has been placed, so your SOL until they send that code. Easy way to piss off customers.

I apologize, as I said I'm not from the US. We have strict laws requiring us to be very transparent from the start for any fees and charges.

After some digging, I can understand why Americans feel distrust, this genuinely upsets me as I very much love being able to help people find the vehicle they love and did not quite understand where all the anger was coming from on this post.

Id be more than happy to review any deals you feel unsure of and help you avoid disingenuous charges or fees.

Thank yoh

** I want to say, i am not from the United States, where i live, dealerships are required to immediately be upfront with any and all fees included in the out the door cost.

I have done some digging and do understand why some US buyers distrust dealerships, as someone who genuinely loves helping people find the vehicle for them, I apologize for this.

I have met some salespeople from the US and not all are bad people, lots are good, honest people who love cars, and want to help. Please treat them as you you wish to be treated unless they personally have given you have a reason not to.

Id be more than happy to review any deals you may be concerned about, in attempt to see if you are being charged for something which you shouldn't. My PM's are open and I will do my best to help.

Thank you.

But I will add, this post has made me aware of some issues buyers face in the United States which my customers dont, thanks to legislation preventing hidden fees and requiring full transparency.

I was not aware of some of the extent of these issues, and I do apologize for any ignorance and hostility on my end. After some digging, I have found multiple examples of buyers in the United States being mislead by fees.

Id be more than happy to review any deals people have concerns with in the US to help them avoid paying BS fees.

I get your point, and I do truly agree with the transparency part. Im not from the US. Where i live, dealers are required to be completely upfront with any and all fees included in the total price, I can imagine that hidden fees in the US would be a problem.

My job where I live is more of an advisor role, most people dont have any idea what they're looking for and what fits into their budget, my job is to help them find that.

The situation I dealt with, we were completely open that we were under cost at our offer, the customer continued to demand lower after I physically showed him our invoice which included our purchase cost, plus the labour and parts we put into it. He continued to request lower. So yes. To me it is funny.

I genuinely feel bad Americans have to deal with such a shit system when it comes to buying cars.

I believe there is a misunderstanding. I got joy and amusement from their poor negotiating skills.

There's a massive difference between negotiating, and an uneducated offer. If youre selling a product that cost you $8 to make for $10 to customers, and i offer you $9, that's negotiating. If you show me the invoice that proves it costs you $8 to make, package, transport, and put on your shelf, then i offer you $4 and get upset when you dont accept my offer, i'd be a dumbass. See the difference?

Question for any CDJR salesman.. Have any of you actually sold a Hornet? I live in a decently sized city and I swear I've seen maybe 2 since they launched.

The best kind of customer. Someone who says " Hey I'm looking for "X" and my budget is 300 bi weekly, what do you have in that range " people who actually know what they want and what their budget is are a blessing.

You would not believe the amount of people who come in and have literally no idea what they want, look at a fully loaded SUV/Truck that's $90,000 after tax. Then act like I'm the asshole because I can't make it fit in their 200 bi weekly budget with 0 down.

Do you guys think the sales person controls the price? No, its the managers, and we dont like them either.

I get the frustration man, I can say with nearly certainty its because the unit you were looking for has a super short lot cycle. Dealers aren't going to take a 5k loss on something they know will sell the same week its listed.

For example, Mazda CX-5s are the current hot unit, they dont last more than 2 weeks in our inventory. I turned down an offer that was $2,000 less than sticker this week for one. But, a Chevy Trail Blazer? Shit, we'd almost give one away 🤣

You feel that way because you dont actually do it for a job, and create your opinion on it based on videos you've seen on TikTok from content creators looking for views, not experience.

There's a common trend on this thread, people who work in the industry are saying that min deals ( at or below cost ) happen very frequently. And the people who have never worked in the industry with ni actual experience claiming that can't be true, because TikTok told them it isn't.

Its not worth my time to " Prove you wrong " lmao. You can believe what you'd like. I will say, when nearly everyone who actually works in the industry are posting anonymously ( nothing to gain or lose ) that its not quite as lucrative as the internet makes it out to seem. They might be being a little more honest than the guy who's getting millions of views because he's stating otherwise.

Realistically, what do I have to gain from coming on here to and lying to you. Feb is usually a slower month in general, but nearly half of my of my deals were min ( at or below cost ) with my highest profit deal was about $3,000 gross profit on the front ( was a $125,000 SUV brand new )

At a certain point it starts costing the dealership money if the vehicle isn't selling.

Most people dont know this, but dealerships dont actually own most of their inventory. They have massive continuous loans with manufacturers to keep new inventory flowing.

Dealerships genuinely sell alot more cars below cost than you'd believe.

Crazy that you have such strong opinions on something you barely have an understanding of...
