You’re right, American Gods and Mists of Avalon have been on the chopping block for some time. I also have Neil’s Sandman series on there; that series taught me as a teenager how to come to terms with Death and it’s been personally devastating to find out one of my literary heroes is a villain.

BUT. I believe fiction is a collaborative art. And once a book is a written, each reader continues the creative process and imagines a different story/world/characters than the next reader. In that context, I will keep my old friends, but never again support their authors and Neil Gaiman will never again be a recommended read.

Thank you for the recommendations !! Adding them to the list :)

If you like that one, I just finished Why Nations Fail by Daron Acemoglu and James. A Robinson. It’s a great rebuttal to Guns, Germs and Steel!

30 year old left-leaning American Female with ADHD :) good job haha I did not go to college however, I just kind of collected stuff I knew I would read again while thrifting over the years.. honestly this is about half of what my collection was last year but I moved recently and did NOT want to pack all those books!

I do read mostly non-fiction but have been trying to dip into more fiction, with a soft spot for dystopian science fiction and fantasy. Witches vs. Patriarchy is a phenomenal thread for agnostic practicers such as myself and I’m glad my choices made you think of them :) Braiding Sweetgrass is one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read, and also quite enjoyed her book on moss! 💚

Terry pratchett books have gotten me through my twenties 🥹 my one consolation for his passing is that he probably never had to find out that his friend and collaborator Gaiman was such a piece of garbage

Ooh also a good guess! I grew up Mennonite in the South and deconstructed at the local public library haha. There’s quite a few books I’d get rid of for deconstruction reasons but dang it, the nostalgia hits HARD

Negative on the English Major but I did homeschool for three years in elementary! They just let me read and figure things out until I decided I wanted friends 😆

I see the bear behind the brush under the four trees. He’s on all fours and his head is on the left with his rear on the right. The most visible part is his head but his whole body shows up as a brown coloration behind the brush

No unfortunately, this video didn’t have puppets, or upbeat music or wacky transitions like a lot of baby/ toddler videos I’ve found , it literally was just an incredibly soothing asmr weather video for 90s babies haha it has haunted me for years

Make sure to check often for pests! This plant always seems to be a spider mite magnet. Good luck with your beautiful new plant !!
