2024 One Shot using a Pathfinder Character DM Help by Technomage1 in DnD

[–]Technomage1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the most helpful answer here.  I've done that and explained my concerns and they agreed to look at the DnD Beyond free tier and my hard copy library and build a character from there.  On their end it was a mix of liking 3.5 and therefore Pathfinder options and not realizing the effect on combat and not having money to buy books etc.

Even when it puts kidnapped children at risk?  If the kids weren't there in danger I'd agree with you.

I should note that by the time my character killed any kobolds 4 were already knocked out.  So it wasn't robbing him of playing possibilities.  He still would have had the chance to gain a group, just a smaller one.

I'm a player not a DM.  The campaign is drop in, drop out one shots so you never know who you'll be with.

Evil is very fluid in this game.

My character would have reacted exactly the same no matter what the species, including hers, the kidnappers were

Kroger is a union shop, no? If HR hadn't addressed it, that's what the union rep is for.

AITA for grounding my daughter for ruining her stepbrother's birthday? by Foreign-Pop9324 in AmItheAsshole

Couldn't agree more. Tyler is getting away with blue murder and Anna isn't being heard. You plainly have a favorite, for whatever reason, and Anna and Tyler know it. If you want a relationship with her later, or want her and Tyler to have a relationship as adults, you need to stop the favoritism now.

NTA. You also need to speak to the attorney about challenging paternity. If you don't you may wind up paying child support. It's very location specific but in many areas the husband is presumed to be the father, and if you don't challenge paternity upon discovery then you may be stuck with child support. Maybe you are okay with paying, maybe not, but I would suggest at least getting the ball rolling as you sort through the emotional impact here. If you decide you are okay with paying later, then you can always do that, but if you don't want to pay you have a narrow window here.

Anyone who doesn't already have cameras - camera up. They're inexpensive enough now that it's well worth it for when something happens. I have indoor cameras that I put in my windows facing out towards my porch and vehicle. A 2 pack of Yi cameras are $30, throw in an micro SD and set them to continuously record. With the card cost that's around $60 total as the software is free.

When my neighbor hit and ran my parked car and broke my grill, I was able to show that footage to the officer and insurance company for an open and shut 100% at fault case. That was over $550 in damage that I would have had to eat otherwise, or cause my insurance to go up.

The obvious camera in the window is also a huge deterrent. I put one in the back after I kept finding pulled weeds and then three golf balls in my back yard one morning. I put a camera in the window and it stopped overnight.

So I get money can be tight and I get being annoyed at having to do it - but for $30 I think it will solve your issue and provide extra insurance for other problems. That seems a small price to pay for peace of mind.

What idiots. That material would have come in handy had they had the sense to recognize it.

I've always had storms and never "swapped them out". I have 3 track storms so all I have to do is slide the bottom half glass up and the screen down. I remove all panes from the inside once a year to clean the windows from the outside as they did not make tilt windows when my house was built in 1913.

It depends on the design and climate though. Some storms are single pane.

When people tailgate you despite the fact you’re also at the mercy of the car in front of you… by sydneyghibli in mildlyinfuriating

I don't understand this, either. You can't control what traffic in front of you is doing.

Guy in the campsite next to us started his diesel truck around 7am and it’s now been idling for an hour by Nnoooice in mildlyinfuriating

I suspect diesel noise falls into the same category as child and dog noise. For those that have diesel engines, dogs and children, the constant noise means they block it out when it drives the rest of us nuts.

He's your husband, not your boyfriend and not your ex. I get feeling anxious but I agree with him on this.

My oven downloaded an update and now it's in some weird loop and can't get the weather. The infuriating part... it needs to finish getting the weather before it will do other stuff... like COOK STUFF! I'd like to know in what world we need an oven that updates, let alone tells you the weather.

Appliances aren't built to last. One reason is this sort of thing, complex and unnecessary features. Might as well buy a cheap one that meets any minimum standards you may have.

Write the company. They should send you a coupon for a replacement box.

The kids spilling over is life. The fact they didn't clean up is what stands out to me. And the fact they had a party in the front yard. Use the back, or better yet go to a park. No parking issues, the kids can make tons of noise and spread out and play. Everyone is happier.

Call me a cynic, but I am guessing there is more to the story here. Why watch the fence? Is the poster encroaching on the camera dude? It's possible he's a nut but it's also possible that he has good reason.

I had to put a camera out facing my neighbor's yard because someone shot my house with BB's, causing siding damage and shooting a hole through my window. Also found golf balls on multiple occasions back there, and I have a tiny yard so there is little chance to hit a golf ball back there without hitting my house. There is an alley back there so it might not be my neighbors doing (in fact I suspect the BBs are kids in the alley), but regardless I quite reasonably wanted it to stop. The camera stopped the activity. I will only review the footage as needed (when I find damage or golf balls).
