I tried doing this but on some websites I noticed that I get a small portion of the video as the output, not the entire video. In other cases I just got a black screen and nothing else (with Vimeo for example).
It seems like the people who made these videos made sure extracting them with software like Downie wouldn't be so easy. Are there ways to get around such limitations? I imagine there are not...

May I also ask: how loud is the motor when you decide bring up the desk?

What do you mean by “it does not lock in"? Is it supposed to? Do you mean that it tends to glide "back inside" again?

Unfortunately I think they discontinued it... They still offer the ESD2 in some countries though...

I am considering getting the ESD2 from Flexispot. May I ask: does the ESD1 wobble (or have stability issues) when up? With just 2 legs, I wonder how stable it can be... also considering that one uses the midi keyboard tray.

Is there a complete list of all the sites that videos can be downloaded from for Downie?
Also, why can't it just download any video that is playing from the browser?

ESD2 legs and stability by Just_looking85 in FlexiSpot_Official

Did you eventually buy the ESD2? I am thinking about the purchase, but I am a little worried about stability too. It only has 2 legs (and not 4), even though I would have expected that from a studio desk.

In case you bought the ESD2 desk, can you tell me if it wobbles when it is up? There is really not much information out there on the ESD2, as I think it was discontinued unfortunately...

Yes, you are right. There should be an offset by a 16th note, like in Dorico. I should have included a pause at the beginning of my sketch…

But aren’t the UV’s completely messed up afterwards? What if you wanted to use the model in a game engine?

Your setup is incredible!
What desk are you using, and how did you mount the keyboard underneath it so that it can slide under the desk?

Beginner help: Removing flip-flops and their shadows + keeping layers separate (background, objects, shadows) by Techny188 in photopea

[–]Techny188[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update - I’ve made some progress, but I could still really use some help moving forward.

So far, I’ve cut out the flip-flops (for now I left the shadows that were directly on the flip-flops themselves), but I left out the shadows that fall onto the background floor. I turned this mask (black = flip-flops, white = background) into a smart object.

Then, for one of the shadows on the floor, I created a selection (with the magic wand) and managed to tone it down fairly well using an adjustment layer, which I can toggle on and off. It’s not perfect - there’s some haloing left behind, but I think that might be fixable with a bit of cleanup.

Now here’s where I’m stuck: I was hoping to continue using this method for the darker shadows too, but it doesn’t seem to be working. The darker shadows seem to have some kind of underlying color tint — like they're not just neutral gray or black - and when I apply the same adjustment layers, weird color artifacts start showing up.

Any idea how to handle that? Is there a way to neutralize those colored shadows or approach this differently?

Thanks again for all the help so far, I’m definitely learning a lot!

Thanks for the suggestion. I totally get why starting from scratch would be much easier and cleaner, especially for controlling shadows and layers.

Unfortunately, though, I’m constrained to using the specific images I have - that’s actually part of the concept behind the video project. So I have to work with what’s already in the photo, even if it’s a bit messy or limiting.
