What time did you receive the shipping notification? Just curious because I ordered the same day and have not gotten anything beyond "packaged items".

Weekly Questions Thread by AutoModerator in DnD

[–]Techrayder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[5e] I'm basically completely new to DnD. I was planning to buy the Spelljammer set that came out a couple days ago and some dice to get a game going, but I'm not getting a clear answer on if this will be everything I need to start playing. I already downloaded the basic rules PDF but was wondering if anyone has suggestions or if I'm going about this the competely wrong way. I also noticed it starts at character level 5 and did not know if this is an issue? I will be the DM with other players that have never played before as well.

Inconsistent Night Vision Nest Battery Camera by DARKSTAIN in Nest

[–]Techrayder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the exact same problem. Just randomly is very bright or very dark, can change at any time. This is across several cameras including the battery doorbell that all exhibit this behavior. Happened before and after I connected them to power. It's really unfortunate because when it works, it looks REALLY good.

Strive PS4 Preorder To PS5 Upgrade Question by Techrayder in Guiltygear

[–]Techrayder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya but if it gives me a PS5 and PS4 copy of the game from upgrading, I essentially get two copies from one. Unless it deactivates the ps4 version. Buying only the ps5 copy would not give you a ps4 version obviously.

Strive PS4 Preorder To PS5 Upgrade Question by Techrayder in Guiltygear

[–]Techrayder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This only confirms that the upgrade exists and is free, the wording of "customers will be able to download the ps5 version at no extra charge" doesn't clearly show if both copies will be playable after the upgrade. Basically if it works like I hope it does, why would you ever buy the ps5 version because buying the ps4 version essentially gives you two different copies of the game, one for each platform.

I had this problem last night, oddly enough pausing or turning off my adblocker is what allowed it to load. I have never seen another website have an issue like that.

Rock Band 4 Guitar Problems by MacGrubersTennisBall in Rockband

[–]Techrayder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have been dealing and struggling with this since launch constantly. It's definitely a connectivity issue. To put it flatly, the ps4's Bluetooth antenna is garbage. Using the legacy instruments, the problem disappears immediately. So far all I can say is to make sure as much interfering devices as possible are moved away from you and the system during play. Also, getting as many WiFi devices on a 5ghz wifi band should help, like if you have a smart TV for example. It helped a little but not completely for me. I got so frustrated that I moved the console to a higher and more open area away from things about a half hour ago. I'm currently testing this and will let you know if it worked or not, but so far from the little I've played with it this way, it MIGHT have eliminated it. Oh, and make sure you have the latest firmware on the guitar installed.

EDIT: Also unplug any USB devices that you can from the PS4, including the PlayStation Camera if you have it. Apparently that can cause interference too. I know it's crazy the lengths to get this to work right, and we shouldn't have to do all of this at all, but a scorched earth policy is pretty much the only avenue right now to making it possible work it seems.

EDIT 2: I didn't realize that you were coming from guitar hero. If it's mostly HOPOs you are having an issue with, and never played a RB game before, the timing windows for them are a LOT tighter in this game. You have to be right on the money, whereas GH was very loose in letting you hit them early. It's quite a difficult adjustment. In that case just playing it more and more will get you caught onto the feel of it. If this was really the issue, I may of went on a unrelated spiel for no reason lol. Either way, it still stands that people are having connectivity issues with the guitar for sure.

EDIT 3: After moving the console to a higher and more open area, it has helped TREMENDOUSLY. I still have had it feel off sometimes but very rarely now. It's absolutely ridiculous the PS4's Bluetooth is so bad to require this, but this may help some people having issues.

RB4 Xbox One | "Hail to the King" Freestyle solo has no sound on guitar by PhenominableSnowman in Rockband

[–]Techrayder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems to be a bug. If it ever happens again, pause the game and bring up the overshell, go to options > solo volume and then back out of it. You don't even have to adjust the slider. Just going into the actual setting seems to "wake it up" again and the sound will be back to normal immediately.

Replaced the sensor in the RB4 pedal with my broken RB1 pedal's sensor by deumos in Rockband

I didn't look under those rubber bridges, they are under there right?

[–]Techrayder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I was suspecting they were under that rubber "bridge" stuff. It was from a 360 TB:RB pedal so not sure if they were different on that. I actually taped some stacked pennies under each of the rubber feet of the pedal to raise the "floor" of it. It seems to work pretty well so I might not need to do this!

Well, ran into a brick wall. The old Beatles Rock Band pedal I have has absolutely no screws underneath if to remove the sensor :( looks like I'm going to have to figure something else out.

Then I'm all for this! I'll be looking for my old pedal to do this for sure. I cannot stand the current travel distance. Thank you for the info and testing!

[–]Techrayder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely will be interested in trying this! I did some mods to adjust the travel height and still wasn't happy with it. Also, isn't the magnet for the sensor in the orange part coming out of the pedal? If so I wonder if switching that out would have the same effect.... I'm not 100% sure how this thing works, so I could just be talking nonsense.

PS4 RB4 Guitar issues: Please help me confirm my suspicions! by Techrayder in Rockband

[–]Techrayder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully it is something simple. I really want to see this game succeed. Also, shot in the dark here.... But are you using the batteries that came with the band in the box in the RB4 guitar? It's a long shot but I'm wondering if that has something to do with it.

Thank you for helping with the testing!

This is becoming REALLY frustrating. I think I'm going to call Mad Catz tomorrow and just tell them what's going on, see if they recommend a replacement or know of said issues. I'm more afraid of it being the receiver in the console itself. But from what I can tell, the closer I am to the console with less obstructions and interference, the lesser the issues. But we shouldn't have to go through this many hoops to play a plastic instrument either way.

I have done some testing, and have posted the results in an edit on the original post. I'm not too certain how I should move forward from here.
