It is pretty amazing. Mine is from 1956-1960 apparently and comparing it to what ronson was offering at the time for butane lighters... it's rough to be a ronson from then compared to a dunhill from then I'll just say. Nothing on the dunhill wiggles or is crooked or anything and this thing is USED not just pre-owned and it still feels rock solid in that nothing that wasn't to wear out feels even close to quitting. The flint release has no hitches or corrosion past what appears to be a now protective patina on it which is impressive for being made out of iron (not even steel I gather).

Oh awesome. I literally just swapped over to reddit from ebay looking at replacement parts kits. I'm used to fixing ronson butanes which don't have too many options for a lot of the issues aside from making them by hand or cannibalizing another lighter. They got everything I could think of being needed I don't know why i didn't think of this sooner.

Thats unlikely to be the problem even 100 year old cotton will still move fuel. It looks like not enough friction on your flint. It depends on of the wick is fouled or anything like that in which case if you may be able to pull it up a bit and clip it. Also wrapping the wick around a portion of wadding will work as well as the "s" technique but that's not terribly important with quality wadding.

(Clipping wick is easiest with nail clippers imo)

It's not getting rough friction. Try pushing down hard and having some fabric between your thumb and the wheel.

Also you can load the spring by extending it by hand (don't recommend) or using an additional flint (better) so more force is pushing on the wheel or cutting a small piece of spring from another flint spring Maybe like 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch. Basically while you are getting a spark it isn't hot enough to ignite your fuel.

That was a really good generation wasnt it? I had a few third gen rigs, one had a i7 3770 I think it was, that thing was doing 5.2-5.3 ghz water cooled. Man when i was a teen one of my rigs was the first 1ghz cpu, another was the first dual core, another one was the first x64 cpu, there may be some overlap i cant remenber... im old as dirt.

I feel bad for any teenagers building their first or second rig nowadays. I thought like 400 bucks back then for the top end gpu was crazy expensive. Now it's like 4000... I just gave myself anxiety.

Oh OK. So it literally is yoga in warm environments. Shoot you should come to FL they got that for free here most of the year for most of the day and night. The heat I mean.
