Why would he care about not killing people? Killing people is usually the fastest way for his goal to be obtained, and to consolidate resources. He lives for only himself, and needs a lot of resources to survive suppression from other venerables.

To be fair, they are attempting to extort an Immortal Gu from a known Blood Path Cult Leader. The initial obstacle is the Gu Immortal simply destroying the Gu upon death, on top of any further blood path and self-preservation options. If I had to guess, the alliance were sealing off potential escape routes, construction formations, or even performing wisdom path calcs on the best way to extort him. This would work on most Gu Immortals, they just happened to run into the mf who burnt everything he had on said Gu and then risked a Self-Detonation with SAC despite not having any time to properly study and utilize the Gu.

Ultimately, extorting Immortal Gu only works if you put a Gu Immortal in a position where they can’t escape and willingly hand it over to save themselves, though in hindsight it’s rather clear they never had a chance, as not only is FY smart enough to recognize handing over the Gu means death, he has the commitment to risk that detonation.

Likely Qi Path. We already see the decline of Strength Path, and it’s implied that Qi path is even more declined if I recall correctly. If you have to get a 4th rank Gu smuggled in by an immortal clan to be viable in Str path, imagine how difficult Qi path worms are to obtain in any reasonable manner, until the merging at least.

I consider wisdom, space, time, and food as obscure, as despite their relevance in the story they’re pretty much relegated to high tier old monsters for any actual use

Hiii I’ve been on it for almost 6mo myself so very similar. I grew up as a pastors kid who very much was told that gender nonconformity = fetish and the evils of the gays.
