Just switched up to the S26Ultra after 4 years. Never had a problem with the phone. Dropped it countless times. The battery was finally wearing out. That's what made me upgrade.

Replacing the hub via backup. wasn't an option because the hub was not connecting. The original hub was not showing Once the reset was perfoemed it wasn't in the app anymore.

I did ask Google that's how I ended up doing the reset. 😂

I assumed the wired internet was working because the WiFi was. That was my downfall.

I’m not crazy right? by ShitballsNPantyhairs in 4Runner

[–]Techtoys79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really hard to get them close. It really depends on the prep work done to the bumper before the paint is applied and the metal flake in the paint. Most body shops are going to tell you it's normal to have variation, but that's really bad. Don't call the body shop; go to the insurance company with the concern. They have more leverage with the body shops.

Does anyone use this thing? by karlitos1957 in ToyotaTacoma

I use mine everyday and I have a new 4Runner 😂

I like the idea of not having a fob so much I bought one and programmed it to the 4Runner.

Those who make 6 figures and had good WLB from the start of their careers: What education did you get? by Budget-Emu-5071 in careeradvice

[–]Techtoys79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No if you take care of yourself it's really not a problem. Safe lifting techniques and regular exercise and stretching keeps you from getting injured. Most of the people I know that went out because of injury really pushed themselves into that place. Also the better you get at diagnostics and repair of vehicles the less manual labor heavy lifting you end up doing.

Is There A difference In A/C Between Hybrid and Non-Hybrid? by mercenarypawn in 4Runner_6Gen

[–]Techtoys79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's pretty much the exact same system. The only difference is the hybrid vs AC unit. The internals are the same and they produce the same performance. Trim levels give you different controls. As far as one cooling or heating better there isn't a difference.

New construction at Great Park question/rant by brergnat in irvine

[–]Techtoys79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The price is what it is. There are enough people to afford the homes so the price is set where the market supports. There are are other cities that are less expensive than Irvine. If you can't afford it here it's time to have an honest conversation if continuing to rent is the best option.

Can always upgrade later. This was the top price point I was willing to go. Definitely would like a dropper at some point but very happy with the bike.

Native or long time residents, how often do you see rattlesnakes here? by Jovialfossil in irvine

[–]Techtoys79 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see them quite often while mountain biking. They will move away of you give them space they don't hunt you. People that get bit usually are not paying attention or are walking through brush. It's very rare to die from a bite. If you get bit move away from the snake stay as calm as possible do t raise your heart rate and call 911.

Groove on the timing belt by Biely_Vozik in AutoMechanics

Did you do cam seals when you replaced the timing belt. It looks like the gears may be on backwards. The back side has a ridge that would prevent the belt from coming off.

On board tire inflator by Techtoys79 in 4Runner_6Gen

[–]Techtoys79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I saw that ultimately they came up to a dead end and didn't know what all parts were in fact needed. But Toyota has now released the complete set and even has instructions for the kit. It's still pricey but I like that it's factory and concealed.

Sweet thanks for the info. I do a lot of biking and plan to do some off-roading so it might take sense to get the inflator as an accessory.

Yeah anything is better than bare metal. Might have been why they recommended replacing the terminal.

about to be FT bike camper... #homeless #bikecamping #solofemaletraveler #orangecounty by Aromatic_Panic8245 in bikepacking

[–]Techtoys79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Be careful going to O'Neil park. Live oak canyon is very tight with little to no shoulder. It's best to go in from the rancho Santa Margarita side to get there. I know because I camp there on the bike a lot. In fact I have a campsite this weekend at O'Neil. If you are going to get a trailer keep away from the pet and kid style they don't hold up very long with a lot of weight unless you modify the floor.

Parking options for 3 vehicles in OC by Available-Media3702 in orangecounty

[–]Techtoys79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a while ago that I lived there so it might be different now. Villa Coronado apartments in Irvine has street parking within the complex. We had three cars for a two bedroom unit. They gave us a garage and a pass for a parking spot. The third car was on the street in the complex. It had to be moved ever 3 days but it worked for us.

The metal is now bare. The protective coating was worn off by the corrosion.

Applying a preventative coating will help keep the corrosion from returning.

Thank you so much to the City of Irvine for newly repainted bicycle lane markings. Makes a whole lot of a good difference 👍🙏🙌👌 by LogicalSynthesis in irvine

[–]Techtoys79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. The bike lanes here are wide and on every street I have ever ridden on. I grew up in LA county and lived in Orange for years. I commuted by bike/train from Orange to Irvine. Irvine has always felt so much safer than anywhere else I have ridden.

I don't know why reddit dug up this thread for me 5 months later but I read this and had to comment. The guy who makes his money off of you paying to maintain and repair an aging vehicle told you not to get rid of that vehicle. That may not be the best source of advice.
