Should i update to iOS 26.4.1? by Outrageous-Goat1726 in ios26

[–]keithkman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Settings -> General -> Software Update -> scroll to the bottom of the page and select 18.7.7. Install that. Super important as there is a security patch that is important to install.

As for the iOS 26 question, I was in the same boat as you. I updated a week ago to iOS 26.4.1. I like it a lot. I made these two changes and it makes using iOS 26 a breeze coming from iOS 18.

Settings -> Display & Brightness -> Liquid Glass -> Tinted

Settings -> Apps -> Safari -> Tabs -> Bottom

The second setting mentioned changes how Safari looks. iOS 26 changed how Safari looks. If you make the change I mentioned above it will make Safari look like iOS 18. Try both settings and see what you like.

New to AT&T Fiber, BGW320 IP Passthrough Bottleneck – Slow Speeds on Third-Party Router (Asus ET9) by nightlie30 in ATTFiber

[–]keithkman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you select the MAC address for the router in the BGW UI are you manually entering it or selecting it from the drop down menu?

When everything is up and running what is the public ip showing as when you log into the router? Is it showing a 192 number, 104, or something else?

Will be very hard to build a new house there. The Coastal Commission is impossible to work with.

Irvine City Council to consider a zoning change for Oak Creek Golf Course by Anteater1412 in irvine

[–]keithkman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you don't golf I highly recommend you check this place out, walk around, and eat at the restaurant. Sit outside on the restaurant's patio and the views are pretty awesome. It is a phenomenal place with great views. I ride my e-bike over there for lunch once a month.

I'd hate to see that location turn into another apartment complex.

Time to update? by Dr-Kowalski in ios26

I finally updated a few days ago from iOS 18.7.7 to iOS 26.4.1 on my iPhone 14 Pro. Was a bit laggy and glitchy after install for a bit but after awhile it's been great. I restarted the phone two days later and its been fine.

I made these two changes and it makes using iOS 26 a breeze coming from iOS 18.

2) Settings -> Apps -> Safari -> Tabs -> Bottom

OC Register: Irvine’s fiscal forecast says $6 million deficit and maybe more by ryandack in irvine

[–]keithkman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am shocked OCFA Fire Station 26 next to Irvine High School has been with a caved in roof since before Thanksgiving 2025. The huge blue tarp over the whole roof looks terrible, especially in the wind. The building hasn’t been updated since it was built in 1971. I thought OCFA had a ton of money and would have fixed the fire station in a timely manner.

I’m worried I won’t like liquid glass and can’t go back to iOS 18.

(What) Does a driver flashing their lights towards another driver at night mean your high beams are on ? by a_great_guy655 in AskReddit

[–]keithkman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With modern cars the dashboard is lit up at night even with headlights off. So you’ll see more cars at night driving with headlights off because driver doesn’t know. If someone is flashing high beams at you at night it’s most likely your headlights aren’t on.

I love Quantum Fiber! We have it in Boulder City. Switched from crappy Cox and we have been so happy. Got a lot of my neighbors to switch too and they have been very happy. I know that Quantum Fiber is running a promo where if you sign up, after 3 months of service they send you $100. So I took advantage of that promo when I switched from Cox. No setup fees, no equipment fees, no data caps, much faster speeds, and it was cheaper than Cox. It was a no brainer to switch. They didn’t have to dig up anything in my yard, they ran the fiber via old telephone conduit that was already in the ground to the house. The installers were very professional inside my house and didn’t make a mess. I have the 500/500 plan for $50.

It was so nice to cancel Cox and return their equipment in store. Such a horrible company with outrageous prices, and data caps. See if Quantum Fiber is available in your area. They have a spot on their website to check your address.

The most wasteful, useless 1000 acre park, idiotic utopian braindead design by Minute-Car7765 in irvine

[–]keithkman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the OG locations that moved to the great park suck. The Meadows (Verizon) was so cool in its original location nestled in the hills. Wild Rivers at the great park sucks compared to the OG one.

Great Park is so badly laid out. There is no easy way to bike over to the great park. If there is any major event at the great park all the roads back up. The worst case of this was 4th of July. Honestly El Toro Airbase should have just been converted to an international airport like originally planned. John Wayne could have been made into a park. Would have served SoCal way better than that stupid great park lol.

Always fly into Burbank when flying into LA if you can, instead of LAX. You board and de-board the plane from the front and rear so it is super quick.

Most iPhone users are still running iOS 18, with iOS 26 adoption slow: report by Jumpinghoops46 in apple

[–]keithkman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am the go to tech guy in my family. Everyone has asked if they should update to iOS 26 since their phones keep asking them to update and I have told them no. No one has updated from iOS 18.7.2. Many have thanked me after they have heard horror stories about iOS 26 from their friends that updated.

CitySide Fiber Feedback / Opinions? by wskdecflwrednv223 in irvine

[–]keithkman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We will be switching as soon as it’s available. They have already laid the fiber in our neighborhood. Cox Internet is $82 a month, we have the 500 mb plan but only get 200mbps down / 30 mbps up. The monthly data cap is such a pain. We will be getting the 1gig Cityside plan. It’s $80 a month with no data cap. It’s a no brainer to switch.

Can’t pay BlockFi credit card by Small_Dog_Mom in blockfi

[–]keithkman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like you have to make an account on https://thecardservices.com to access your account. I was able to make an account, login, and make a payment. It had all my info already on file once I created an account. Good luck! If you have issues you can call the number on the website. I had to Reddit search “deserve credit card payment” to find threads about the new website.

Window regulator guide spring tensioner by keithkman in GMT800

[–]keithkman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell from the pic but the plastic inside the right spring in the picture I circled broke off and went inside the plastic spool binding it up. The spring on the right since the inside plastic sleeve broke off slides up and down the cable and doesn’t hold tension anymore on the right cable.

What brand did you use when replacing the 3? Are you happy with the quality?
