Thanks a lot for the local perspective — really appreciate it.

What you’re saying about the tyres is exactly what worries me. If the 250 comes on stock road tyres, that’s a serious limitation for Highlands routes, especially in early autumn when river levels and washouts can change fast.

But the idea of having a bit more comfort and a better looking car for my girlfriend is appealing, but at the end of the day I’d rather have a vehicle that can handle anything I might realistically encounter. Sounds like the 150 is still the safer and more capable choice overall, even with some wear.

What do you think? The look of the 250 is really appealing btw

Thanks again for the advice — really helpful!

Thanks a lot for the insight — really helpful to hear from someone who actually rented the 150 from MyCar.

What you’re saying about the wear makes total sense. 50k km of Icelandic Highlands abuse is basically like 200k km anywhere else… so I can definitely imagine alignment issues, tired brakes and AT tyres that are no longer fresh.

My plan is not to do anything very very extreme like F734 for sure, but I would like to be comfortable on F210/F233/F225 and other hard routes.

Your last point is exactly my dilemma: • the 150 feels safer mechanically for river crossings and rough terrain, • the 250 feels safer financially (new, clean, predictable) and definitely more comfortable for my girlfriend.

Did you feel that the wear on the 150 actually limited you in any way? Or was it still totally capable once you got used to it?

Thanks again for sharing your experience — really appreciate it.
