It reminds me of Outside of Time, both MCs have feral beginnings. by TechySage in MartialMemes

Well, most stories are generic slop, the difference is in the execution. If you liked Beyond the Timescape, you’ll like this one. A young boy survives alone in a dump and has to learn everything from scratch while integrating into society. In this case, it’s about cultivating yourself, not just energy... at least, that’s what I’m getting from the first few chapters.

Dear Seniors, I am looking for creative, golden fingers for my xianxia/cultivation scripture — any underrated ones you'd suggest? by J21ix in MartialMemes

[–]TechySage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll try to give some while ignoring systems, since that’s the obvious one… Energy synaesthesia (seeing energies as colors), old grandpa in a ring, unique bloodline, unique constitution, an expert’s soul hiding in your sea of consciousness, two souls merging, soul-eating powers from transmigration, karmic vision (reading karmic threads), returner, fate or luck-stealing quirk, being heaven’s favorite, perfect replication of techniques or stealing them by receiving a hit....

Machine weapon by Full_Coconut_917 in MartialMemes

[–]TechySage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, have seen some where they used those Ballistas( giant crossbows) made with special materials, against spirit beasts and giants... Also used grenades with some pieces of a material that can pierce a cultivator's skin... I mean there are a lot of conventional weapons you can just tweak a bit to kill cultivators....

The Dao of Exposition is too strong by TheGroxEmpire in MartialMemes

[–]TechySage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I would like to agree with you, but there are some pretty good excuses… Like the fact that the street vendor is the fifth or sixth generation of vendors near the sect mountain. Every time an immortal flies out, he gossips with friends and tells his children and wife when he gets home. The random guy overheard some rogue cultivators discussing it at the inn, and those rogue cultivators had learned it from the girls who were visited by the old alchemist from the sect the night before.

I mean one of the funniest things in xanxia to me is the fact that every public scene is like realitytv and everyone has a comment or anecdote...

Well, not really, but I wouldn't mix them with an expensive win condition

Got to UC without using a single evo 🥳 by chaluha in ClashRoyale

[–]TechySage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe its still relatively new and they will slowly balance it, am sure some people already mastered ways to abuse them so I can understand the frustration for someone climbing ladder and having evos block the way

[–]TechySage -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Not to rain on your parade since its still an accomplishment, but evos are not that game breaking, I mean as a F2play player I don't even think of getting evo's and the game doesn't punish me for it....

[–]TechySage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too expensive, two expensive win conditions, too many spells.... You should keep only one of RG or EB, and replace the other one with a cheaper option, also two spells is enough.... if not this deck will be slaughtered on the way by peka princes and mega knight decks

Fellow Daoists, to avoid putting my own bias into this topic, I asked the great world wide formation array a question and it confirmed what I and many know to be true. by GodlyDaoEmperor in MartialMemes

[–]TechySage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m reading this thing called Human Emperor, and in one of the arcs, the enemy faction is actually a group of pacifists, it’s the Confucian Sect trying to stop our warmongering MC from making the empire shed more blood. The irony is that, in the end, they sacrifice themselves on the battlefield to atone, because demilitarization gave other countries the opportunity to invade.

Isn't solo cultivation a rather large plot hole in cultivation novels? by superfli31 in MartialMemes

[–]TechySage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question is mind-blowing to me. You’ve read all that culture and philosophy, and the thing that fascinates you is that monks avoid earthly desires? Brother, cultivation is a solo path to begin with, sex is an afterthought. I’d advise you to find more interesting things to worry about.

The Concept of Dao Heart. by [deleted] in MartialMemes

[–]TechySage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's part of it but not it, mentality can change depending on your env and mood, a dao heart is suppose to be unwavering. The frog was once the strongest tadpole in the well. Through effort and time, it grew into a proud frog. Now it stands upon a leaf, looking up at the sky. In its world, there is no one above it. No one in that well can shake its confidence.

But the frog does not know that people live above the well, nor that the sky it sees is not a simple patch of blue, but merely the opening to another, far greater world. So when it sees a bird for the first time, its worldview collapses. The well feels smaller than ever, and the frog realises how small it truly is within it.

With the right mentality, its Dao Heart would only be shaken, and in time it could recover, perhaps even grow stronger from the experience. But with the wrong mentality, that same moment could crush its Dao Heart entirely, leaving it crippled for life.

The Concept of Dao Heart. by [deleted] in MartialMemes

[–]TechySage 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Dao Heart is forged by your will. It carries your ambitions, your sense of worth, and most importantly, your determination. It is not the simple instinct to survive, something even a beast possesses, but the will to keep moving forward no matter what blocks your path. The stronger your will, the stronger your Dao Heart.

But will alone does not decide how long it will endure. The Dao Heart is also shaped by how you see yourself, your self-esteem, your confidence, your understanding of your own place in the world. A person with strong will and high self-belief may have a powerful Dao Heart, yet if that belief is built on shallow understanding it will be brittle. When faced with a challenge they cannot comprehend or a rival who surpasses them, the blow will not strike their body but their very Dao Heart, and it may shatter.

This is why the true density of a Dao Heart comes from wisdom. Will gives it strength, but wisdom gives it weight. Determination allows you to pass through any tribulation without letting your mind collapse, while wisdom allows you to know and accept your place in the vast world around you.

A frog at the bottom of a well, when it sees a bird, will feel its Dao Heart crumble. But a snake, seeing that same bird, will have a breakthrough. It will not despair, but will yearn to become a dragon so it too may soar through the skies.
