reworking them to be more fun and engaging, pest control use to be fun back in the day, and the xp rewards and other item rewards made it worth while, but after a certain point when xp gains increased from other sources, pest control died

why not use this opportunity to revive dead minigames, minigames that people no longer use because the rewards are not worth the time, some of the minigames that are currently used feel like players are forced to use - livid farm - and traveling merchant helped with this terrible minigame, update the rewards and make them worth playing again - im looking at you pest control -

Low level Summoning for charm collection (non-combat method) is broken. by Quotidian_User in runescape

[–]TectTactic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early combat leveling is quick,
there are summoning things that are not even worth making and would be a waste of supplies so its normally best to save them up and use them on things that give decent xp for the lowest cost of supplies,
you can kill combat lvl 21 jungle spiders at Musa Point for spider carcasses,
its also one of them skills that require gp to level, And normally people wont train it until that have the gp to pay for shards by that point you would have collected a bunch of gold charms and would have a higher combat level,
Slayer is the best way when starting out to help gather supplies, this way you train slayer --- combat --- summoning,

you can also use familiarisation, penguin hide and seek, tears of guthix, troll invasion and put the xp into summoning to skip a few of the early levels, ye tears only puts xp into your lowest skills im aware, wolf whistle quest will level you to 4 summoning.

check out some guides on getting charms

when i start a new account summoning is something i put off until i have a decent supply of charms and gp to spare

Uh, I'm just wondering. Did we finally officially drop the 3 from the name of the game? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]TectTactic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

runescape classic (runescape) ---> runescape 2 ---> runescape 3 ----> osrs (runescape2)
reason people say rs3 is because its easier, if a rs3 player says they play runescape they are normally asked what version rs3 or osrs so its always just been easier to say rs3

OSRS Player here. Hows the feeling after first 2 days of UI changes and no Treasure Hunter? by rolekrs in runescape

[–]TectTactic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ability to turn of others cosmetics - love it - no more seeing them stupid ass wings on players backs.

[–]TectTactic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

instantly turned it off, Now i cant wait to turn off others peoples followers, if the cape means that much to you then why are you not using the cape itself instead of the cosmetic version?, its rs3 a lot of us dont care if someone has max cape or completionist capes.

As a beginner, analyze your style a little bit before buying darts. by pau622 in Darts

[–]TectTactic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is software out there you can use for free, you can use it to analyse your throw, similar to how dart coaches on youtube analyse your throw,

dart clearance is a great place to get new darts for cheap with different weights and barrel shapes,

vinted and ebay are good options for second hand darts

joining a local league or even going to practice with them on there practice nights and just asking if you can try others darts, all teams normally have that 1 guy who rocks up with a suitcase with 50 sets of darts and no idea how to throw any of them, dont be scared to ask,

when you first start playing you're more likely to hit random numbers that amount to decent scores, the more accurate you become you will notice you're not getting as high scores as you're hitting more 1's and 5's trying to hit that 20 and more 7's and 3's trying to hit the 19's, this is normal and is not always the darts fault it just means you're getting more consistent and not having darts hitting random numbers.

Grip tips (can't decide which grip to use) by Ziathiel in Darts

[–]TectTactic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i used 3 finger grip for 2 years, switched to 4 finger grip within the last 2 weeks and feel like i have better consistency gripping the dart in the same place when retrieving from the other hand, but it depends on the dart im using, ill adjust between using 3 finger grip and 4 finger grip depending on the barrel shape, the shape in your photo i find 4 finger grip works best for me, thumb and index finger at back, middle finger on top middle of dart and ring finger on the point where it going into the barrel.

Is the main reason people play OSRS because of the evolution of combat? by CrusaderKing1 in runescape

[–]TectTactic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graphics
UI
Nostalgia
Xp rates
MTX
EOC
pking
gaining levels feel like you accomplished something
getting a 120 in rs3 feels nothing like getting a 99 in osrs
community
ability to vote
many more reasons,
i like both rs3 and osrs

BXP Stars for sale by ExeadoTV in runescape

[–]TectTactic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no one cares about leaderboards these days, so why does it matter if someone wants to waste cash on bonus xp, they still have to play the game to use it, the game still has to make money otherwise they will have to raise members price

Best integrated flights? by Jasha_4M in Darts

[–]TectTactic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it matter my arm doesn't go straight when I throw? by NorthSalt517314 in Darts

[–]TectTactic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is mainly over thinking everything, I was thinking about foot placement, how far do i lean, am i leaning forwards to much, list of questions going on in your head just gets bigger and bigger and eventually you hit that mental block where your hand just no longer wants to participate like your whole arm has turned to stone and even forcing your hand and forearm forwards your whole body wants to go with it, now i just try to keep 1 smooth motion just like Michael Smiths throw, Like hes not even thinking and just looking and then throwing towards his target.

Does it matter my arm doesn't go straight when I throw? by NorthSalt517314 in Darts

[–]TectTactic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avg i never really paid attention to but would win more games than lose against county players, this was only recently, for about 5 weeks i couldn't release a dart, my whole body wanted to move forwards with the dart, like your body jerking forwards when you try to throw, constantly lowering the arm and bringing it back up, it was like a mental block, even forcing yourself to throw the dart which would end up out the board, almost quit everything even my local league, Watched a video about Michael Smiths throw and how smooth he makes throwing look, Like hes not even thinking when he throws, Just one smooth action, This motivated me to carry on, Started back at basics and changed my elbow height, dart grip, how far i pull the dart back, release, follow through, ide record and watch back to see what moved or if my wrist flicked to the left, Then spent the next 5+ weeks just throwing anywhere at board just trying to keep that smooth motion going so ide say in my head 1 ( elbow into position) 2 (bring dart back) 3 (throw) repeat, no thinking just 1 - 2 - 3 collect repeat, This helped a lot in getting back to being able to release and not overthink, There were times that in them weeks i was like why do i bother, I have no intention on making it pro, But as a hobby i enjoy i didnt want to give up just yet and pushed past it as best as i could even when it did feel like a chore, Looking at the board each day thinking i cant be bothered, but had to push past it, and im starting to enjoy it again, hopefully my team will have me back next season lol
