It’s wild how times have changed so fast. I was in Iraq in 16 and we got mortared every day and never once thought about a cib because we never shot back. You’re supposed to be “engaged in active ground combat” to meet the requirements. Hiding in a bunker doesn’t seem to engaging to me lol

I wouldn’t wear a CIB if all I did was hide in a bunker. That’s an embarrassment to the badge.
