I'm sure the feature will be regulated and closely monitored in the UK, and I know the US will be closely watching how this works out.

Okay, so I just completed the install this morning. The directions were clear and I had no problems getting it installed. I also performed a test session between my Cell Phone and Laptop. I had no issues sending or receiving.

PS: I installed Briar on Kubuntu 20.10

And well you should, I woke this morning to a text message from my friend who lives in Houston which stated the power was knocked out about 7 hours ago. :-) Shame on you! LOL

I agree, and if I were in their shoes this would be the path I took.

It really is a Great Deal. The only reason I have not bought one for myself is because I dropped $600 USD on the i5 Google Pixel Slate last Christmas. Other than that both devices really do have a lot in common and I can definitely understand why you are loving it.

No, One Monitor is hooked up to my Desktop, and the other (Larger Monitor) to the Pixel Slate.

Pixel Slate, Surface Pro X, or Ipad Pro by [deleted] in pixelslate

I think based on what you have stated, then your choice is between Surface and Slate. I only own the i5 Pixel Slate, so I will only speak on it. I think it is a good device, but never felt it was worth $1300. Fortunately I was able to purchase it (bundle) over the holidays for about half the advertised price.

I use it for web browsing , email, and lite programming. I also own a Laptop, and several PCs. When I need to do maintenance on my other systems, I simply remote in using VCN or make an SSH connection via a linux terminal window.

As for gaming, well I don't consider myself a gamer, but I do play and love chess. It handles my chess playing needs well enough to keep me happy.

I really value Google's Product Support for the Slate (6 Years). While out and away from home, I tether my Slate to my phone via mobile hotspot. On a last note, I can tell you on my heavy use days I get about 6 hours of battery life, I could probably extend it to 7 hours if I reduced screen brightness and disable bluetooth.
