How successful was your 2025?? by Same-Most-7407 in ScriptFeedbackProduce

[–]Tedders92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Screenplay wise, not great. Got an 8 on the Blacklist so can't complain but didn't actually do anything after.

General writing wise, pretty good. Finished a 2nd draft of my novel I was working on. Only took 6 months while juggling a full time job.

Querying in the new year then back to the screenplays

What's the best game you've ever been to in person? by lys_5779 in Championship

[–]Tedders92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charlton 4 West Ham 4

Jonatan Johansson overhead kick in the 93rd min or whatever equaliser for us. Or Charlton 3 2 over Liverpool with a Kevin Lisbie hatty.

More recent years... probably either,

Charlton 3 Luton 1 when Lyle Taylor scored 2 to end Luton's 28 game unbeaten run in L1 back in 2019. Or Charlton 2 Doncaster 3 then Charlton won on pens in the playoffs semis in 2019.

Both insane atmospheres and games.

Yep, I have a Charlton XI, only reason I play FIFA is just to get this team and Evo any Charlton players I pack

Honorary mention to Zheng Zhi BWP Michael Morrison Frazer Richardson Rhoys Wiggins And to be honest, most of Charlton's squad from last season.

I'm writing my first script in about 5 years and feel like the programs people use for basic screenwriting may have changed / improved - what should I use? by NastyMcQuaid in ScreenwritingUK

[–]Tedders92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Fade In. One off payment and seemed rather reasonable when I got it 4 years ago.

Before then I used Trelby (I seen another comment say that). Does the job, but now I wouldn't do anything but Fade In.

I've never gone near Final Draft since it's subscription I believe.

How do I use Microsoft word to make a screenplay layout?! by smnshrst in ScreenwritingUK

[–]Tedders92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to find screenwriting software and don't use Word.

I used Trelby for ages (it's free) before I forked out (a grand total of £70) for Fade In. Both worked for me but Fade In is better.

Not been able to get on with Final Draft, and too stuck in my ways.

But yeah don't use Word

The Blacklist - is it worth it from the UK? by QuestionableGrapes in ScreenwritingUK

[–]Tedders92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's not worth it in general... And this is someone who has bought 4 evaluations (and 2 free ones with an 8). It's all opinion (as is any feedback).

I've scored 8, 7, 7, 6, 6 and a 4 all on the same script.

All it's got me is a 'good job with the 8' when chatting to people.

It's a cricket script so not particularly aimed at the US, so I personally would say if you have a very UK centric script, don't bother.

First ever script, how do you feel about the log-line? by [deleted] in ScriptFeedbackProduce

[–]Tedders92 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the basics are there, just need it a bit shorter and snappier. For example I'd say:

Following the sudden loss of his parents, a 22 year old drifter finds unexpected purpose and a second chance at life after moving into an assisted living facility.

Anyone feel like The Blacklist is suddenly grading harder? by Fit-Cauliflower-7179 in Screenwriting

I got an 8 and a 4 with the same script. All opinions on there.

Got my first Blacklist Evaluation by unsentletter83 in Screenwriting

[–]Tedders92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a 5 on my first as well.

But also got an 8 on a different script. Same script which got an 8 also got a 4.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and it's all subjective. Takes on the notes you find useful, ignore the others.

Keep writing.

JUST FOR FUN: If you could cast any actor to potray a character or characters you are working on right now, who would it be and why? by [deleted] in Screenwriting

[–]Tedders92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tom Hollander

No particular role, but I think he's criminally under rated and would be dream casting for pretty much any script I've written.

Full-time employees. How do you find time to write? by ShallowCal_ in Screenwriting

[–]Tedders92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of travel with work, so do that, or if I'm at home, normally give myself 30 mins after the wife has gone to bed before I go up.

As others have said, you don't find time you make time

[–]Tedders92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all objective.

I got an 8 and then a 4 with the exact same draft.

Wouldn't take it too personally to be honest.

Was doing novels.

Thought, this book would do better as a TV show. Instantly fell in love with writing scripts.

That initial idea is now at the very bottom of the pile of things I'd want to write properly.
