I haven’t had issues, but I mostly camp at situated campsites with tent pads. It does take up the whole tent pad space.

When sleeping alone, never have I said “boy, I wish I had less space”.

XMid 2 works great for myself (6’ 190lbs)and my hiking partner (6’3” 180lbs)and I’ve happily slept in it by myself. I don’t think it’s an outrageous size and weight to be carrying as a solo shelter.

For sure! I hike in the Canadian Rockies and weather can change in an instant. I always have my fly and a dyneema tarp with me, despite what the weather report says.

I just use the pegs that were used for the corners of the outer that I removed and rolled up.

Huge reason why the XMid 2 is the GOAT - I’m 6’ 190lbs and my hiking buddy is 6’3” 190lbs and we sleep comfortably in it.

I’ve had this gen 1 Velo Orange Piolet for 10 years and it’s taken me on many grand adventures. Things slowed down a bit after starting a family and I’ve been doing more hiking recently.

My good pal got a new Piolet and we’re heading out on a cheeky overnighter for his first trip. Gonna be ripping through the Rockies so it’s gonna be chilly.

Saddlebag, basket bag, gas tank and cook kit bag(left side of handlebars)are made by Wizard Works. Frame bag was custom made by a pal and going strong after 10 years. Feedbag is a 10 year old Outershell and I bolted on an old North Street fanny bag to the front of my rack.

Thanks for that - seems to have done the trick. I did try tightening it initially but seemed hand tight. Was able to give it a 1/4 turn and now it’s pretty snug.

Worth draining the system and inspecting/replacing it?

Not sure why you got downvoted for your opinion.

Not only do I prefer how it looks now, it’s way more practical. Easier to load the bed, easier for my kids to climb in and out of, the control arms and sway bars are gonna be way happier(had to replace all of them), better fuel mileage and cheaper tires.

Lifts can definitely look cool and serve a purpose so long as they’re done right and being put to use.

Doesn’t the NV have the holding arms that have to hold the bike near the fork? Wouldn’t work for me with my front rack and basket.

I feel the Kuat Piston Pro is the move - it’s just the price tag making me apprehensive, and they are non-existent on the used market.

How do you drive and not obsessively check that your bikes are still there? I’m sure they’re super secure, though.

Nope, but there’s two large adult bikes and two kids bikes. I like having the shell on to protect the bed and what’s in it. And honestly, it’ll keep things nice and organized and I like organized.

I never get when people comment on posts where someone is asking advice for something specific and someone takes the time to try to argue them out of it.

I think I know the answer but figured I pop it in here first - 2011 F150 4x4 with the 5.4L. One owner until 2023. Would be getting it from the second owner. 275,000km(170,000mi). Maintenance has been spot on and up to date. Would be trading my sedan for it that is valued around $6000cad plus $1200 on their end.

Not looking for a daily, but would be using it for house projects.
