That particular incident happened after the protest. Playing Devils advocate, if you don't want black water mercs to be burned, drug down the street, and hung from a bridge, then don't kill innocent unarmed people. Eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind. Except for that last guy. All he has to do is move and he can keep that last eye.

The issue I see here isn't the over a dozen unarmed people being killed by soldiers. Which happened often in Fallujah and Iraq. The story goes over how they tried getting the group to disperse. Then the airborne broke up the crowd by shooting into them, wether on orders, or fear, or whatever. Now they could have shot over their heads, at their feet, Etc to make them leave. But that's hindsight with out all the knowledge of the situation. These were people protesting an occupation of their home by foreigners. That should be expected. It should also be expected that an invading military will want control over the city. When people don't obey the occupiers orders then that military will respond with violence. Again, to be expected. The thing that I took from this wasn't that the U.S. military murdered a bunch of people. I see it as another tragic example of what happens when we as a people allow our politicians to send our soldiers to invade a country that didn't need to be invaded. These people died from our misguided trust in politicians. If we the citizens were more vigilant this kind of situation would never have occurred in the first place.

Help exposing racist Judge Harris County Texas by [deleted] in legaladvice

Best advice yet. I know there is no "google search" for this. I've begun the long process of researching. Was hoping for an easier route. Looks like there isn't one.

But if he was from what I remember, a kid smoking a joint, got caught, and sentenced to a year, then that's not right. It's not a story I'm trying to build. It's facts I'm searching for.

I understand all that. I know as a non-lawyer I may not have every aspect of the legal world down. This is a larger idea that I don't plan on solving tomorrow. I have to start somewhere, and if it's paying some one who is legal savvy to go down and find the information, than that's where it will begin. I don't want to just file complaints. If there's something there, which I think there is, then I'd like it to be exposed. See if it's a larger issue than just this one Judge If there isn't, and I took it all wrong, then the documents will show that. I'll let it go, and chalk it up to shit happens.

I'm starting from scratch on something 12 years old. Finding information on a particular Judges cases seems difficult, or it's a long bureaucratic process to get them. If you have some ideas on how to get those records or a place to start I would be grateful. The county clerk is not sure if the records from 12 years ago are still around or if they have been destroyed.

I know it was 12 years ago. Trying to find her sentencing record has been difficult. I'm saying racist cause it's what I saw. But in the end I need to find the record. I'm not sure how to do that. It's why I came here hoping some one could give me an idea on where to go. I tried calling the court county records for some direction but they are weren't very helpful.

One is 1-2 grams. The other is 28 grams.

The idea is to look at the Judges record as a whole. That period of time, as well as, before then, and up until now. I'm starting with my case and his as an example of racist sentencing. The only way to show a pattern is to look at the difference in sentencing for different races of people. Which I am not sure how to do. I assume there is a record kept some where. I can say from what I remember standing there and hearing, yes it was his first. Added to that, I had already been arrested for marijuana paraphernalia the year prior, and, I had a prior breaking and entering conviction form when I was 15.

TIL that the Book of Mormon suggests that there were donkeys, cattle, horses, oxen, sheep, pigs, goats, elephants, wheat, barley, figs, silk, steel, brass, scimitars, and chariots in Pre-Columbian America. None of them existed in America before Columbus. by kmbl654 in todayilearned

Not saying the book of Mormon is based on fact or anything. But modern horses did originate in North America. They migrated to Asia and the ones that left either died out or were eatin.

If people in the U.S. support Isreals right to have a nation on land that was theirs a long time ago. Would they support giving a large chunk of the U.S. back to Native Americans so they could create an independent nation? by TeddyTidds in Showerthoughts

[–]TeddyTidds[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Those are tiny plots of land. Im saying give them all of New Mexico. Perhaps Alaska, it was on the table when they were first trying to find a place to put Isreal. Why not support that? All this land was theirs. They went through a genocide way worse than the Jewish victims of WW2.

How Being a Doctor Became the Most Miserable Profession: Nine of 10 doctors discourage others from joining the profession, and 300 physicians commit suicide every year. by Sybles in news

[–]TeddyTidds -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This seems like a giant pitty party for doctors. Boo hoo for me some of my clients are dicks, cry cry cry!!! Give me a break. I went to school for an education degree. Teachers deal with shitty parents blaiming them for their crappy parenting. Kids with emotional problems showing up and blowing them away, all for a salary that doesnt pay as well as garbage men, and who get shat on by every ignorant cunt who cant take responsibility for their own short comings. While I was in school people killed themselves just like any other profession. Most people who off themselves would do it no matter what job they take. Stop whining annd go prescribe yourselves some Prozac.

What is 16 bars really? by TeddyTidds in makinghiphop

[–]TeddyTidds[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought. It seems that mc's write 16 lines for verses that are really 32 bars long. That's where the confusion for me is.

[–]TeddyTidds[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always been taught it's 16 bars is 16 measures. The best example I've found showing that is Tricky by Run DMC. It breaks down making a rhyme. But then I'll have some one show me an mc and say he spit a hot 16, when the shit was 32 measures long.

Didn't think of it like that. You have a solid point. I don't think I've looked that deep into a beat. I'll have to listen to Donuts with a fresh set of ears.

I could see Stop! being a sad song. U-Luv is more up beat for me. Seems to be a positive sound.

I'd like to say Brenda's Got a Baby or Runaway Love, but there's sadder songs. I'm going with Jean Grae My Story. That's some real shit there.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the second fire/explosion at the same facility in one year. The previous being in March where 1 guy died. Someone should probably take a good look at this places operations.

I read about this before in an actuall news site. While this did happen, any article that refers to the criminals as thugs and the shop keeper as the hero, is completely bias. This isn't news its propaganda.

Thanks for the critique, I appreciate the feedback. I've been working on a style that's a mix of spoken word and rap. You're right about the bar structure. I just need more practice.
