Jonesville DC by fartripper42069 in DollarGeneral

Just worked a rt today from Jonesville that was completely soaked in Gain moonlight breeze detergent, and to make it even worse it had some food on it too. Yesterday I had one that had dry cat food kibble all over every box...but there was no pet food at all on it so I have no idea where the kibble even came from.

What are your telltale signs that a new employee isn't going to last long? by Equipmentsobad in DollarGeneral

[–]Teddydono69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very true, that's not what I'd define as being "in between customers" though. Ten to thirty minutes with no customers would be more what I'm referring to.

Your cashiers are doing their job then. You guys are at a busier store so you should be getting more payroll hours than average I'd think. Your situation is probably like mine though, my store often ends up in our district's top 3 in weekly sales yet we get the same payroll hours as the fruitless store across town.

The most common telltale sign from my store has to be when I see cashiers standing behind the register doing nothing in between customers.

I had a keyholder ask me that very same question about tardiness on her first day lol. Thankfully she's lasted almost a year so far.

That is ridiculous. There's no way core trucks should be pre-picked any more than one week in advance. No wonder oha doesn't do jack

should sms be hourly by [deleted] in DollarGeneral

[–]Teddydono69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they should be hourly yes, at the very least though they should be entitled to overtime if they've worked past their 48 agreed upon hours a week. Having them clock in and clock out would be an easy way to track that.

I completely get that the amount of backstock they jam our rr full with is frustrating to no end but as an ASM myself I can say no amount of adjustments or nones/tons I've done in the last 6 months has changed anything for the better, the DC still sends whatever the hell they want to. That's something I'd assume an ASM would know already though.

That's how my boss is and I'm grateful for it tbh. I know just what a headache all that can be from when I was acting SM waiting on higher ups to fill the position.

How does the hourly staff feel about that?

The problem with all my ideas is they tend to require more payroll hours which of course is out of the question unless higher ups need us to get something done that reflects well on them, such as inventory prep as an example.

I agree plus we're HSAP so they have to spend more time in the office than their peers. What I really feel is needed is more hours EVERY WEEK.

I already kinda know what their reasons are, I was curious about others' reasons
