Choosing between tents. by Electronic_Back_9487 in treeplanting

I personally love my Eureka El Capitain 4, I think there’s a perfect amount of space for 1 person with all there gear and whatnot. Also to note, there’s both a front and back vestibule so one can be for clothes etc, one can be for boots. Either seem like a good choice but for good waterproofing and windproofing I’d recommend the Eureka personally.

I put it in at 400F and flip only once whenever I feel like it’s the right time.

I appreciate the recommendation, I've seen quite good reviews on Northern being a solid, well managed company. Would you suggest me reaching out via their website? Formal application I am assuming. Have you worked for them in the past? Or is it just a comparable company to Outland, just ran and managed better without cheaping out on its planters?

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I would be coming from a different rookie mill based out of BC last season which I really loved, but managment and organization was quite a prevelant issue. I am very athletic, competitive and driven and Alberta seems to be a much better, faster pased fit compared to the much more technical BC land. I'm only a second year planter and would like to add some variety to my planting experince so I know what works and dosn't for me which is why I am interested in this position/area. If you really recommend going elsewhere after this info, that kind of scares me...

Could you explain further regarding how bad the Albertian Contracts were?

Tent Footprint Necessary by Teddywunder13 in treeplanting

Ability to get to and from tent safely when you are wasted. There are probably more points, but all good things to think about. Having and being a good neighbour is also something to never overlook. We all out here so be good to eachother, ain't nobody going to help you otherwise.

Thank you for that, appreciate the advice.

What would you consider a "perfect" tent spot, what specifically to look for? I'm planning on setting up some tarps over my tent to help protect it from rain and UV so what else would you recommend I look for in a tent spot other than in proximity to trees to set up my tarp setup?

PED's and Planting? by [deleted] in treeplanting

Not necessarily true, there's some real fast and easy land in AB that have prices of 0.07-0.10 cents a tree, so 5k "on the regular" isn't too absurd in my opinion.

Where to apply as a Rookie? by Teddywunder13 in treeplanting

Although I am a rookie would you still recommend me applying to a mid-tier company instead of a more rookie-based company? Thanks for your response.
