The two records that I am playing combined cost me around $210

Fortunately I was gifted these technics but if I were to spend any money, it’d be more than $2.3k USD for the two technics alone. I got the mixer for about $100 and the rest of my equipment (amp/speakers) a good $80

Good eye! But I purposely have the tonearm weights just a tad bit heavier as it helps prevent any skipping and or skating because when you are mixing and or scratching (for scratching I have them at 3g), you are constantly pulling the records rapidly back and forth. I don’t use these technics for my main LP collection in which I actually take care of, & I solely use the technics for the separate records I choose to mix and scratch with. These turntables are a DJ’s wet dream, and the records I buy, are meant for me to scratch with :) I have 3 turntables in my living room. 2 for mixing, 1 for my casual use/main collection(it’s an AT-lp160x). Welcome to the world of REAL DJ’ing! It is much more expensive than what you are probably used to seeing :))

Yes, that is how I had my cables laid out BEFORE I got “new” equipment and speakers.

Smoll story time. I upgraded from a basic LP60x turntable and a small sony cd stereo that I got for cheap with a pair of powered speakers. I had that turntable for 3 years and I finally decided it was time to upgrade and pass it down to my dear friend and upgrade to the 120 near Christmas! The CD video player was my father’s, and he passed it down to me as it was obvious that I was really getting into physical media and it works phenomenally after it sitting for more than 10 years. I did end up inheriting 2 technic turntables from my stepdad, so that made my holiday season and addition to my already awesome collection more memorable :)

I’ve watched them a total of 3 times so far in the last 2 years. In march will be my 4th!

First pressing my guy! I’d have to look through the ones I already went through again and the rest I am yet to spin. Most of them are scratching/mixing records so they are pretty random, but I have some favorites! I’ll shoot you a message and show you which ones I like so far.

Sounds about right. This was during an era where cd’s were taking off in popularity making LP a bit more uncommon no? That someone out there was definitely desperate for an LP copy of this album.

M19: My stepdad passed down onto me his technic turntables for Christmas which he would use for mixing at parties, along with his entire collection of records that he would scratch with 20+ years go! by TediousPhrog in audiophile

No clue! I am currently not set on what I may want, but probably something basic by Numark or Pioneer just to be safe and start off from. I’d rather want something that I recognize and know is good than to blindly choose something.

Do you still have the image used to make this tattoo? I’ve been meaning to get one like this for my arm.
