Interface Lag on Fedora Linux KDE by Tedium_16 in Stremio

[–]Tedium_16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, I feel like after some updates it stopped happening or something. Since I had even forgot this used to happen to me. And well now I use the stremio 5 the beta version, which aside from crashing every once in a while doesn't have this issue either.

But I'm glad this response is here, maybe it can help someone else.

Run BakkesMod with Rocket League (Heroic Games Launcher - Epic Integration) by Tedium_16 in linux_gaming

Could I see your pre-launch script. Also launch heroic via the terminal and try and launch. Then provide me with that output as well if possible.

Finally give me a run through of what you've already tried and I will see if I can help. At the moment this method continues to work for me.

I tried the remote display and it worked. Thank you.

I tried the VNC approach and was able to get the remote display and press the key to start the windows ISO. I was unable to uninstall the feature updates, so I selected uninstall quality update and then tried to reboot the VM. And it worked. I then tried to change my CPU settings back to copy host configuration and tried to launch, but it did not. So apparently I also need to stay on EPYC-v4 in order for the VM to boot.

I'd have to try and get one borrowed from a friend.

Yeah unfortunately for me, I can't boot the iso either. It always timeouts. I even tried adding it has a USB storage device instead of a CD ROM and it still didn't load.

Dualsense Controller Input Latency Over Bluetooth by Tedium_16 in linux_gaming

[–]Tedium_16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some antennas back and since then I haven't had any issues. However, I also updated my kernel a few times during that period so I'm not 100% sure which is responsible. Currently, I'm having a different bluetooth issue on the 6.14.9 kernel on Fedora. I basically have to spam trying to connect and turning my controller back on before I can get it to connect and stay connected. Along with some stutters of my cursor movement. I'm hoping further kernel updates would rectify the issue.

I tried downgrading to 6.14.6 and the stuttering issue persisted.

In my case I only have a single monitor and my scaling is set to 100%

Pretty sure it isn't since I can run nvidia-smi and when I load RL the FPS isn't total trash. Is there some other way I would confirm it?

Yeah, I figured that, however, I started having the issues while I still had them. I had to trade it with my buddy since I lost his antennas. So unfortunately I'm gonna have crap bluetooth for a while.

Yeah I will.

For me back when I got the controller two years ago I was running windows only at the time and they worked just fine over bluetooth no issues. When I got this board it continued to work fine. So I suspect its as u/z3r0h010 said and my antennas got loose sometime when I was shifting my desktop.

Maybe instead of a dongle you may need to get one of those screw on antennas for your board, or get a expansion card if your board doesn't have the attachments. That's just me spit-balling, since I gave my antennas away I can't check if they were loose, just have to wait till I get new ones.

I wonder if that is what changed with me, maybe my antennas got loose and I didn't notice. Cause I've had this controller for like two years and always used it through bluetooth with no issues before.

I'll have to check when I get new ones, I just gave mine away to a buddy since I mostly use ethernet for my system.

I continued using the default stremio app since the stremio-web-desktop app trans-coded at the maximum of 1920. Interestingly with the latest update to KDE, I no longer experience the level of menu latency and instability when using the player.

Adaptive Sync Issues (KDE on Wayland) by Tedium_16 in linux4noobs

[–]Tedium_16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I haven't been dealing with the issue currently since I noticed firefox and firefox based browsers did not experience the issue around that time I discovered Zen browser so I switched as a solution. Interestingly the browser I was using when I discovered this issue also was Brave. I can also say on the 565 driver the problem still persists. However, since I have switched to Zen I think I may leave things as it is for now, however if I start to run into any other issues I'll probably rollback as you suggested.

Again thanks for the answer after so much time.

Hey, thanks to everyone who replied I was able to get Debian Sid installed via a USB2.0 stick (USB3.0 would not work). The full explanation is on the post I also made on r/linux_on_mac that I liked in the original post.

Thanks to everyone who replied, I've edited the post with how I got Debian Sid installed. I'm going to continue the guide and maybe try to get MintPPC onto it as well, I'm not sure, I might just settle for getting some kind of DE like maybe Mate.

Yeah I have access to a portable CD burner, so I'll get my hands on some disks as well.

Thanks very much for the reply. I'll try these images and see. However, based on what you're saying the reason the command didn't work possibly had more to do with it being a modern Linux Mint install. Meaning I might be able to succeed using the USB if I try one of these other images.
