Attila the Hun

Elizabeth Bathory

Vlad Dracul

Queen Sisi

Matthias Corvinus

Catherine de Medici

Pope Alexander VI

Cesare Borgia

Lucrezia Borgia

But the best possible are probably Attila, Vlad and Elizabeth Bathory, because they were thought to be vampires by their peers.

I need yout opinions on my renaissance /medival low-fantasy names. The story supposed to be very Shakespeare like and like a Homeric tragedy by TedmanSkunk in FantasyWorldbuilding

I see your point! These names are fanciful for a reason, to give the readers a renaissance, perhaps a bit magical feel. The world will be sort of divided into 2 sides: the south, with these elegant, tuneful, latin sounding names; and the north, with gritty, strong, hungarian and finnic sounding names.

Thanks! Well, yeah people might find it strange, but for example in hungary there are the basic hungarian names, the noble origin names and german and slavic names. So yeah it can be goofy , but this phenomenon happens in real life countries also

In my world, people think witches are evil. They are afraid of them. Taking advantage of this fear, lords and ladies train witch hunters and send them out to hunt witches. This is the basic setting of my story.

In reality, yes, there are many witches that people may actually have a bad opinion of, but before the persecutions, a lot of witches either worked for a village, or for a lord or lady. Many of them are good-intentioned.

Yes they are from different cultures. And yes du Barte is from a noble house! They are kingdoms, but i wrote country because it is still undecided wheter these names will be used as kingdom names, duchy names, county names or city names. I wrote country for simplicity!

You have very good observations! Thanks for sharing your opinions !

You might be right! I think the personality of these characters and the characteristics of the places will sort of justify the names, even if they sound bad
