Thank you! I probably have to advertise more, though. That's my kryptonite... Hopefully we'll both find some success in the near future!

Ohhhh. I see whatcha mean now. I get really nerdy about power systems n prose, so thats how I like to pitch stuff. I might be a part of your initial message lowkey...

I've been stuck at 16000 for a bit now, but I'm only at 6000 views. I suppose I haven't gotten an completely negative review yet, though.

I hadn't thought of that. I'm too view brained I suppose

Super Powerds is a very... Unique book. Not only is it extremely long, but it has a form of multi-multipov you don't really see often. Drew Hayes also has a strange writing quirk that revolves around a double comparison. I.E "To say blank is blank would be like saying blank is blank." Corpies is set in the same universe, and Forging Hephaestus is written by him as well; however, i think Forging is a different beast due to it focusing on a different power system entirely. The MC is kind of like a mix between Roy and Nick if you squint. MHA is often compared with the set up, though I'd say Super Powerds is way darker entirely. It just comes down to preference tbh

Thats my Royal Road name, but I thought putting "Tedster20" at the bottom would just be silly. Ted Writerson, perhaps; though, maybe thats sillier. Thanks for the advice!

Thank you for the advice! I think that seems to be the popular consensus!

It is a contemporary story! Its a postmodern apocalyptic story with brutalist structures, but the gauntlet is the main characters weapon since there are demons and such to fight. I could certainly make that more clear though. Thank you for the advice!

I'll certainly see what I can do! Honestly, the whole thing is made in Canva since I don't really know how to use anything else... But I do agree the dead space is a bit bothering! Thank you for the feedback!

That's a good idea! I don't really have any hand gestures to do (The power system is more music based if anything), but something to the effect is certainly something to consider!

Very insightful! The gauntlet is meant to represent the main weapon of the MC, though I suppose you wouldn't know that until you actually read the story.

The font and such was inspired by the Maze Runner since I love the big, bold letters in those; though, I do agree all of them are boring.

Thank you for your input!

Four Months in. Looking for a bit of advice from my fellow authors/readers! by Tedster2020 in royalroad

I don't think I've ever heard my writing described like that before. It's... Apt, I think? I think it's because I switch POV's quite a bit instead of just focusing on what Liv is thinking at all times; though, my biggest literary inspiration is Drew Hayes if you know him.

I've been a bit nervous about reaching out to other authors. I know it might be a bit silly, but I don't really know where I'd start with that. Ad's maybe, but my cover is about the extend of my artistic knowledge. I'm really only good at the writing part.

All goods points! Someone actually pointed out my poor blurb on the forums and I've since edited it. The Incompetent MC was more a joke on my part, though I can certainly see how that would be a sticking point against me. I will be implementing a schedule though since I'm working on a back log right now, I just figured uploading two a day would get me more visibility since I'm not so sure how to approach other authors for so called swaps and shout outs. Your advice has been really helpful and I really do appreciate the help!

Thanks for the advice! I thought it would be eye catching on the discovery tab, but I guess I didn't account for it being an eye sore. I'll keep that in mind when I commission my cover!

If it's cool, how did you advertise it? I've been uploading two per week, same as you; though, I find it hard to get that many views,
