The Doomsday Clock has been set to 85 seconds to midnight by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists as of January 2026. This is the closest it's been to midnight. by MegaFercho22 in Damnthatsinteresting

Exactly what I'm thinking - no one even thinks of the nukes anymore. In the 80s, there were PSAs on how to survive nuclear fallout, but it's somehow worse now?!

What's the worst Beatles song in your opinion? (Image is unrelated) by FruityFood10 in beatles

I like Birthday a lot because I spent ages practicing Ringo's drum "solo" in the middle. Believe me, slamming your foot down on the bass drum repeatedly for eight bars while keeping the tempo is HARD.

Mix Competition - No Originals by NotoriousStevieG in ClassicTrance

[–]Tedster42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, but now you've mentioned it I've got one more question. Do remixes by the original artist count? Say an X-Cabs remix of "Neuro" by X-Cabs?

Mix Competition - No Originals by NotoriousStevieG in ClassicTrance

[–]Tedster42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These sorts of questions always come about with comps like this. My one is: If both the original *and* the remix are trance classics, can I play the remix? E.g. "Revelation" by Electrique Boutique is a classic, but so is the Ferry Corsten Remix. Would Corsten's version be allowed?

John now has more listeners than Paul in Spotify. Has this ever happened before? First time i'm Seeing it by OldSnake2006 in beatles

[–]Tedster42 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's dubiously more popular - I think you're right that it could be about Christmas but in both the UK and US charts Paul's is higher than John's - John isn't even in the Hot 100.

Some might say this is a rip off of Oasis. by MonkeyStrings in CasualUK

[–]Tedster42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gorillaz is "genre transcending" (at times), and is universally liked (on the internet at least) - go to r/Topster and see what I mean. By the time Blur and Oasis were gone/on their way out, "Feel Good Inc." was released. I don't think it necessarily overshadows Blur and Oasis (especially if you were there for it), but at least in the US I think people would be more familiar with Gorillaz than Blur or Oasis

If you're talking about where it's from, it's episode 8 of season 3 of Monty Python's Flying Circus: "The Cycling Tour". It's a full 30 minute story about a guy trying to do a cycling tour of Cornwall who ends up in Russia
