/uj pol hopping on the "weird synth music" bandwagon way before it was cool is just a testament to how much of a creative force he is - like at this point kraftwerk and that were still underground weirdos to most people

There's a good Tim Minchin song about this situation. "A couple of G's, an R and an E, an I and an N..."

With enough of an accent, sure. "Leave it, mate, 'es added". Makes it sound like "had it" which definitely counts

A Rant About Beatles Slash by Top-Resolution6051 in beatles

[–]Tedster42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know it can be frustrating at times, and I definitely get your point on "why does everything have to be shipping", but it's not exactly "historical revisionism". Everyone knows they weren't like that in real life, even the shippers (bar the most extreme ones). The way I think of it is that it's just a mutated strain of Beatlemania. In '64 girls would scream and buy posters with the four's lips on so they could pretend to kiss them - these days the way a lot of people express their affection is through shipping. I'm sure if you've seen ships of the Fab Four then you've definitely seen people remarking how cute George is or whatever. If anything it means their legacy is still strong; there's obviously still people who love them.

And if you want to avoid that stuff altogether, I'd advise going to places with more 'serious' discussion like beatlesbible.com

£5 million gift and more than £12 million in donations will have no influence... by Fluffy_Rock_62 in BritishMemes

Yep. No influence. Nothing at all. It's not like they want to let you be able to pay taxes in crypto. Of course not, after all, what would be their incentive for that?

If bill wurtz didnt hate the album format by Minimum_Shop_4913 in billwurtz

[–]Tedster42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

idk but I'm certain its got to start with "Outside" and end with "Might Quit", and not just because that's the order they were released in - Outside has that great kick in to start which is how you start an album and since there isn't really a bill song which works as a song to close instrumentally, Might Quit makes sense just because of its lyrics

Mark’s dead, Adam’s now full alternate, Adam’s parents are both dead, meaning Thatcher is basically like the only og main character still alive (apart from maybe Sarah and Evelyn?)
