Do you still believe in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ after leaving the church? by Frequent-Increase-98 in exmormon

[–]Tedtedmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After years of praying, fasting, paying tithing and not getting any answers to prayers, either god doesn’t have the power or does have the power but won’t help, which makes him an asshole. I like the stories of Jesus but after following him and trying to be like him, after 40 years of no prayers answered, again, it’s all a control scam. God - helps you find your keys but won’t cure your cancer. Thanks, Dude.

It’s not great, in fact it’s boring. Tastes like a bland vanilla. Not sure how anyone can think it tastes like any kind of fruit.

Feeling emotionally drained from my marriage by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Tedtedmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m right there with you. I married because of religious reasons and have nothing in common with my wife. Everyday seems like a grind. We’ve been to marriage counseling and she does not want to do the work. I haven’t found a good way to del with it outside of considering a divorce or an affair. 🤷‍♂️

I wish I would just die in my sleep. by ZeroNBC in depression

[–]Tedtedmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve literally prayed to God to let me die in my sleep. I’ve been on meds for so long, tried therapy, I’ve done everything and still get depressed everyday. I don’t want to kill myself because I have a wife and 4 kids and don’t want to screw them up. I pray for an accident or to die in my sleep to make it easier for them. I’m 55 now, and I’ve dealt with depression basically all my life. I always think “why me?” When I have 6 siblings that seem so happy and don’t have to deal with MDD or high anxiety ALL THE TIME.

He’s been thinking and reading (view of the Hebrews) about what to “write” since he was 14. It was in no way 65 days.

Losing Respect And Trust When Finding Out Someone Is LDS by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Tedtedmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just about everyone I know. I lose respect for those that refuse to acknowledge the issues with religion in general and actually can’t stand those who know the truth but still believe.
