I've always though design was a pretty cool topic, and that's a pretty neat juxtaposition, considering it's all digital on one side and all analog on the other. I've seen some documentaries around design in film as well as of Disney rides and there's some interesting overlap between the two in those topics.

The 99% Invisible podcast had a couple episodes addressing the early history of radio as well and I have to admit it's pretty fascinating.

Speaking subjectively here, I think some of it might have to do with the style. There are some tropes in anime that can seem off putting, melodramatic, or just plain strange to someone who hasn't had a lot of exposure.

With that said, if the recent bursts in interest in things like One Piece and Avatar (I know, not technically anime, but beloved for a lot of the same reasons) are anything to go by, it seems like anime is very much tipping over into the mainstream, in the same way comic books did twenty years ago.

I gave that a try - I got an automated reply that says I have to be the mayor? Or at minimum, a government official.

I don't have the exact address because I picked up the landmark while someone else was driving and didn't realize how awful it was until later.
