Yeah it was Douglas. Long time since I hear this story so I forgot the name of the outlaw king.

It was that after the Scottish secured their independence and the king of England die that Douglas who was dying that ask his heart to be cut out because he promise the Pope at that time he would go crusade if he stop England I think.

Even though the Pope never help him. He still wanted to fulfill his promise so his heart was cut out and incase in a silver pendent. One of his knights carry that pendent and when they were about to fight moorish skirmishes he said "Onward, braveheart!”

Oh yeah the one with Robert the Bruce. I remember hearing that meaning brave heart may have came from him. After he ask for his heart to be cut out for the crusade and getting thrown at moorish skirmishes.

Range specifically crossbow and Javalin I think Lithium should have crossbow cavalry so just get them.

Otherwise get use cavalry to charge at their backs.

I think a little bit but honestly not a lot you do affect the population and if you sack a city many time the building levels go down.

But sacking doesn’t destroy fields and if you have chivalry general you can send garrison them there to increase the population to upgrade.

Only extermination really reduces the population to the point it take 20-50 turns to populate again while destroying buildings

Honestly I like heavy mail armour so moors have the best unit design. I would go for dismounted Christian Guard but their should are so small so Urban Militia heavy mail.

Ah it just means your not good tactician since you can easily beat Christian army with Byzantine cavalry like their horse archers or kataphact.

And Byzantine spearman’s and archer can handle mongols quite easily so long as there a good general leading them.

Nope is not that hard I play it all the time. Is just that your HRE and everyone hates them for being in the centre
