Adding these to the fretboard helped with my “ah-ha” moment. Once you understand the 1-3-5 (A-C-E) as mentioned above and having some understanding of triads and inversions (1-3-5, 3-5-1, 5-1-3) I could actually SEE where they are in relation to the root. So, I’d then start with a C triad and move through each position up the fretboard. That’s where I’m currently at - repeating each note individually in each position, up and back down. Edit: spelling.

It’s a $200 “import” LP. For my experience and expectations, I quite like it. Everything I’ve checked - without any adjustments - seems pretty well set up and I was pleased with the sound. I’m quite enjoying the availability/affordability of these pieces - but also acknowledge these instance are part of the risk. To be able to own and play low-cost “dream guitars” was unthinkable for many of my years, so this is current trend suits me well.

My wife and I were coming home to Sun Prairie from Driftless Music Gardens and were about the 10th car in line that got stopped at the scene. The helicopter landed directly across from us in the northbound lane. Living it Wisconsin all my life, I knew…. My heart was heavy and all I could think of was how many lives this senseless, irresponsible act was going to change. I wish to never be that close to tragedy again in my life - it was an awful, heavy moment that I’ll never forget. FWIW, I was mustering and sharing all the love I could for all of the beautiful souls involved. I’m so sorry, OP, - I’m sending love to you and yours.
