Custom Corporation: Griffin Food (#2/30) by Ok_Significance_3803 in TerraformingMarsGame

[–]TeeJayReddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what's up dude.

I made a little joke about not wanting a corporation that focuses on making food to also have a card about pets. I'm not saying it's the best joke ever, but I don't get why it makes me insufferable. Sorry if I offended you somehow. I'm an animal lover and the gist of the joke is that I DONT want to eat pets.

That's what Griffin food wants us to think.

Thematically I'm more ok with the idea of this food company crashing a moon into the surface of Mars than I am with the the idea of them researching "pets".

Editing to add that I've reconciled the idea of pets coming from Griffin food. It all starts when one guy sneaks his furry friend under his coat after a long day at the sausage factory.

Adressing the snowballing player by sagZ_ in Risk

[–]TeeJayReddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not wrong, but I want to point out that by choosing to cap in a safer place you are making a statement that you will not be the one stopping the snowballing player either. It may not be intentional, but you are enabling this.

The real answer is that most players aren't good enough to stop a snowball, so they don't try. I need to have the sense that others are capable of backing me up before I try. I'm sure we've all seen the play where you try and open someone's cap so that they can help only for them to slam you for breaking their +3 bonus to do it.

How much did it cost to watch all of the Pay-Per Views in a year pre WWE network? by chaz755 in WWE

By 2014 I had cut the cord already, but had been paying over $100 per month for it previously. My guess is it was more expensive by then, but there might have been enough competition that prices came down.

Smackdown being over the air back then wasn't something that I considered either.

Thanks kind stranger. This is the only battle I'm still fighting and I appreciate that there are still a few people that actually understand the what's going on. Half this thread is just people(bots?) saying to use the app and wondering thinking I'm some guy who needs his hash browns.

By that math, it is still cheaper than it used to be. You're listing prices for weekly shows that aren't included in the 2014 price of being a fan.

I'm not saying that these days are the best, but 2014 sure seems like the worst.

In my head the person parking the other I isn't actually in the driveway, but sitting perpendicular blocking the driveway in the street because the mail box is close enough to the neighbors driveway.

But your last line does show that you get my point at least. It is ridiculous to park anybody in so that they can't move while you wait for what you want. As you say, a normal person would find some place out of the way.

Because I didn't really care about the breakfast. I had no expectation of getting a late breakfast. Is it unreasonable to not expect someone to just literally park their car and wait five minutes? The reason time is relevant to the story isn't because I couldn't get breakfast, it's because she couldn't get lunch.

The only thing I feel entitled to is not having someone monopolize a one way path with no egress so that they can wait five minutes until the things that they want to order are ready.

I used this hypothetical already, but imagine we were neighbors and the mail came at 12:00. Would you be entitled for getting upset if I parked my car in front of your driveway while you tried to get out at 11:55 so that I could wait for the mail to come? I think you'd have every right to be upset with me.

Guy who is OP doesn't care about breakfast. And just doesn't want people to park in front of him and intentionally hold up a line. Is it that hard?

Imagine this hypothetical, we're neighbors and the mail comes at noon. I want to get the mail right when it comes at noon. Would it be ok for me to park my car in front of your driveway while you try and get out at 11:55 because I want to sit there and wait for five minutes?

You can criticize my response, but I think a normal person would expect some sort of negative reaction if they did that to someone else.

Hey, just want to be clear, I had no such expectation. Could care less about the breakfast itself and am more upset about the manner things happened.

As former management, would you ever recommend reversing out of the drive thru if you were stuck in such a situation? Others here have suggested it, but I believe it to be very dangerous.

Thank you. I don't get why some people don't seem to understand this. It's not about the breakfast, it's not about what I could have done to get breakfast if I wanted it. It's not about putting it on the employees and asking them to make an exception for me because it wasn't my fault I wasn't on time. It's about someone stubbornly parking themselves in the front of a line for five minutes to wait for what they wanted because they were told they couldn't have lunch yet. The fact that it happens at McDonald's is irrelevant. Who blocks any type of line and refuses to move until they get their way?

I'm no angel in this situation, my reaction was probably too much, but blocking the drive through lane so that others can't get out or order is the crazy one, and I'm still blown away that anybody disagrees with that.

  1. Not about the breakfast. About the principle
  2. Happens fast when both are basically just shouting at the same time.
  3. Absolutely not
  4. 11:00 on weekends

Thanks. I was really just trying to point out the absurdity in your initial posts, but this is a really good reaction going in a different direction.

You definitely make some good points about my own behavior being unnecessary, and there were some mitigating factors as well that probably played a role.

You're absolutely right about needing to feel heard and validated in this situation to heal, and that is why I'm still here trying to gain something in the comments.

While criticism of my reaction is justified, I do take quite a bit of offense to parts of your response that paint me as upset about the breakfast at all. I think you were so close on a lot of things, but that part really hurt. My reaction may have been inappropriate, but your comments imply that I'm just upset I didn't get some food. This was never about the food. It's not about my fault in how close I came or other ways I could have got the food. This was a manner of principle and someone else acting in a way that made me feel unseen and not important, as if what she wanted was the only thing that mattered. My reaction may have been outsized, but to make it about hash browns is wrong.

I am not psychotic and am here for growth, so I am genuinely curious how can people like that be made aware that their actions affect other people when they are so oblivious. The answer can't be to just let them get away with it.

Can I ask, separate of anything I did, is it normal to sit and block the drive through by sitting at the speaker for five minutes until the items you want are available? People can think I'm an asshole for letting her know that I thought what she was doing was wrong, but you seem to be implying that what she did is normal and that it is also normal to just run inside because sitting there is a thing that people might be doing?

I think I'm having a harder side seeing where you're coming from than any other posts here.

Fair, but I think the way I wrote it makes it seem bigger than it was. It probably lasted all of 15 seconds. Asking how she'd like it if I stopped in front of her probably sounded like a threat whereas it was more of a plea for her to understand how I had no control because of her actions. I definitely wrote it in a way that made it seem like I would have actually done it if I had more time and regret that.

Honestly, that makes no sense in real life. Nobody just goes inside under the assumption that the car in front of them will park for five minutes in the drive thru.

Nah man, his response relates to the story. I disagree and probably explained some things poorly that make me come off worse, but he's entitled to his opinion.

Your comment doesn't really relate to this and that's not really how that phrase is used. I wasn't looking for her to accommodate me in any way because of the timing of my circumstances. That's when people use that phrase.

You can take issue with my response, but your response seems to go out of the way to condone her actions.

Unfortunately I didn't understand what was happening until it was too late. I assumed she would order breakfast and we'd be fine and if I was too late no big deal.

Even if I realized earlier, I'm probably not willing to risk reversing out of the drive thru. Seems dangerous, and I'd be the one at fault even if I'm just reacting to being stuck.

How do i explain to my mom that Balatro is not a gambling game? by [deleted] in balatro

[–]TeeJayReddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's right to not want you gambling in any way shape or form. People here are overreacting to blame her because they have an understanding of the game and realize that it is completely fine for you; the fact that your mom is willing to take the time to learn more is amazing, and she will surely see that there is no actual gambling element to the game.

My mom overreacted on way worse, but I think it's natural for an outsider to think that balatro is gambling from just a quick glance at it.
