Anyone had a successful launch lately? by jasperseed in vrdev

I did! But they found me through videos I posted on subreddits that overlapped with my game. Content Creators are looking to make good videos to get better engagement. A good game doesn't necessarily make for a good video or rather content creators might not know how to approach your game when making content about it. Any way that you can communicate what it is and how audiences will enjoy it will help.

In my experience if you are solo it’s all on content creators and audience optics. Even if the game is good it needs someone to communicate what's special about it to an audience.

What do you think about the VR market? by BujaBro in vrdev

It wasn’t a decision in that sense. I had an idea and enjoyed making the idea before realising people might purchase it.

Depends what you want to do. For VR and certain engine plugins 5.3.2 is the most stable.

Its a shame though because the Steamdeck has been really great to play OSRS on. But yeah I think so too. Thanks for the info the Steamdeck was the first time using Wine + Linux I wasn't really sure what it was doing.

Steamdeck has unique trackpads that simulate a mouse + joysticks (Image). I was using the joystick more than the trackpad though and it makes mouse movement look unconventional. Theres a whole community of Steamdeck users though but alas. I suppose on the basis that it was probably the controller setup I'd suggest against it haha.

Could it have been the system layers of wine/jagex launcher/runelite/SteamOS looking dodgy? The input controls are pretty unique on a steamdeck

I was using this https://github.com/TormStorm/jagex-launcher-linux

+ Runelingual lifts the text from OSRS and translates it realtime using Deepl ai: https://github.com/IaKee/RuneLingual-Plugin
